This tune started out as a simple groove made one Monday morning in the middle of lockdown in Melbourne. Since then, the SHOUSE project exploded and the tune has evolved as we have over years, touring dance floors around the world. We’ve slowly tweaked it at it in airports, backstage and hotel rooms… Finally, we got back home, threw a party with our choir and recorded a ecstatic chant on it which made it all make sense. Tonic is a tune to soundtrack the sunrise over dance floors in house parties, festivals and clubs. Any time people come together to groove and share life together. It’s about that primal feeling of communal ecstasy from dancing and singing together. It’s a gentle tonic to heal our souls. Love SHOUSE xx

SHOUSE is Ed and Jack; a couple of friends who like to hang out to make weirdo-house and the occasional international hit. 

Their live-house sets these days incorporate a network of analog synthesizers, sequencers and drum machines, along with bizarre instruments tinkered up in Jack's dad's rural shed. House jams interspersed with huge, choral, anthemic moments. Always a chance to dance, bringing the people together as one within a liminal space. Always a strange, ecstatic, transcendental time.

SHOUSE’s music has become so many things for so many people: A declaration of love during a time of isolation. A demonstration of solidarity. A cry of collective strength. Via the indelible energy of Communitas, embodied on global hit phenomenon “Love Tonight” and their most recent ubiquitous anthem “Won’t Forget You”, that SHOUSE reaches out across the world with a spirit of unity.
