I recorded this album in the basement studio. 
I recorded the sound output from the guitar amp and the speaker. 
The sound seemed to be blowing. 
In this album I worked underground in the bottom, so I imagined by creating an image of the sky. 
So this album is the theme of desert and sky.

Japanese artist King Rambo Sound releases his newest EP, Strange Reality, on Chinabot
Analogue synths create an exuberant take on dirty acid and funky minimal
Repetitive beats, heavy bass and gritty textures mesh dub and techno influences

Sendai-based musician King Rambo Sound is releasing his first EP on Chinabot. Strange Reality (Japanese: 奇妙な現実) is an extroverted record: crunchy, repetitive beats and heavy basslines conjure up the sweaty hedonism of the club, tempered with an off-kilter sense of humour.

King Rambo Sound is influenced by reggae and dub - his name is a homage to reggae producers such as King Tubby and King Jammy - as much as techno and no-wave. Recorded with analogue Moog, Pioneer and Roland synthesisers, Strange Reality retains a full, organic sound. In King Rambo’s hands, dirty acid and funky minimal get a contemporary, energetic makeover.

"The world I see is very strange and sometimes grotesque," King Rambo says. "I am attracted to these elements. The daily record of these influences is in my music and living reality." While the grimy, repetitive meshes of minimal synths in Strange Reality explore the gritty undersides of experience, overall, his record energetically embraces even the strangest of realities we now find ourselves in.


About King Rambo
King Rambo Sound is a musician and DJ based in Sendai, the major Japanese city hit by a massive earthquake and tsunami in 2011. He is part of the Aoba Nu Noise DJ collective which play regular shows in Sendai. He counts the internet, video games, sauna meditation and post-apocalyptic fiction among his biggest influences. He has previously released albums under the labels Unknown Precept and A2 Production.
