The programme aims at raising the awareness of physical and mental health of modern people by carrying out community sound mapping in six districts, i.e. Kowloon City, Kwai Chung, Fanling, Ma Wan, Lamma Island and Peng Chau. ‘Elephant’ refers to the idiom ‘the elephant in the room’, meaning an obvious problem that no one wants to discuss. The programme wishes to use elephant as a precursor to go into the community and invite the general public to look into the invisible ‘elephant’ (problems) together and find out ‘the willingness to stay behind’. It is expected that people in the neighbourhoods will be invited to participate in an audio guided tour with a designed route.

五一黃金周我們照原定計劃尋找地道和遊客聽到的旺角的聲音。而天氣不似預期，溝通遇有失誤，小鷹拓郎（日本薯）沒有錄到我想要的聲音，卻從他的角度和選擇，揮舞錄音咪之間錄得意外之聲。我（香港薯）後來把整條錄音聽一次，發覺當中蘊含一定的文化意涵，便整理出十數條聲帶，把想像的、主觀的、意外的紀錄之聲帶給大家。

We searched for the sounds among local and tourism at Mongkok on 1st of May. Thanks to the unexpected events and miscommunication, Takuro (Japan potato) didn’t record sounds from the plan, but more into his own perspective. Sounds accidentally drifted into the heavy shaking boom mic. I (Hong kong potato) listened to the durable field-recording and sort out 11 tracks which represent local culture, narrative speech, subjective imagination and the excitement.

世界上曾有一個城市，那裡的電話從來就有兩個聽筒，那裡的人尊崇著人本來便有兩隻耳朵，聽取來自左右不同方向的聲音，便設計出一個立體聲的電話，因此，他們從聽筒聽來的聲音更具空間感、立體感，使人對該地方的資訊掌握更清楚。 

這個電話便節錄了城市混雜的各種聲音，分別於左右聽筒同時播放。

There is a telephone with two receivers. It’s from a city, that citizens are so grateful having two ears to hear sounds from each side. They designed this telephone in order to listen sound in depth, more concrete, more specific, and more detail, that could really respect to the places.

This telephone recorded different sounds from the city.
