The song is both heavily influenced by folk rock pioneers The Byrds and the sounds of dreamy psychedelia of bands like Spiritualized, JAMC and Deerhunter. Vic Galloway of BBC Scotland calls Auld Spells “my kind of soundtrack”. Ian Corbridge of Louder Than War says Auld Spells are “definitely one of the most exciting new bands I have come across for some time”.
