Greetings, everyone!

Shubin started with mixes which for some reason ended up missing from the face of the internet and we bring them back for you to enjoy again.

Today we start a new series of mixes on our channel. Titled "Exposé", these mixes will showcase upcoming and innovative artists from the underground electronic music scene, with our first focus being on Bulgaria. With these series, we would like to contribute to the underground scene and attempt to bring light to artists that deserve it. Our first entry in the series is by Marthen. As one of the co-creators of the channel, Marthen loves to delve deeper and explores a wide variety of electronic sounds. Here he showcases his extensive music palate.

He's been mixing and producing techno since the end of 2017. As a co-organiser at @hardertrax he's had the chance to play at venues like Tell Me, Fabrica 126, Club Nether in Bucharest and others. Now you are about to read our interview with him where we get a deeper insight into what he does with passion.

Шубин започна с миксове, които някак си са се оказали изчезнали от лицето на интернета и ние ги връщаме обратно, за да може всички вие да имате възможността да им се наслаждавате отново.

Днес стартираме нова поредица от миксове в канала на име "Експозѐ". Те ще се фокусират върху иновативни и тепърва прохождащи изпълнители от ъндърграунд електронната сцена като първо започваме с България. С тази поредица се надяваме да допринесем към сцената и да представим различни артисти, които заслужават внимание. Първият микс идва от един от основателите на Shubin. Marthen (Мартин Мартинов) показва своят богат и разнообразен вкус за техно.

Той се занимава с миксиране и продуциране на техно от края на 2017-та година. Част е от организацията @hardertrax и е имал участия в Tell Me, Fabrica 126, Club Nether, Bucharest и други. Следва да прочетете интервюто ни с него, където получаваме по-дълбок поглед над това което прави със страст.

Exposé 04 - Totenmet

It's time for Exposé 05 and we've invited Daniele Miladinov a.k.a Modern to take us on a deep dive!

Ambitious and ready to continue his musical journey, he stays true to his vision of sound and successfully manages to diffuse his unique brand of energy within any space.
His sound embodies experimental broken grooves, profound and hypnotic elements and reflects his major influences from Spanish techno.
Apart from polishing his musical taste, Modern has also been focusing on the development of the local techno scene since the beginning of his journey.
So far, he has had the opportunity to be invited on the same lineups with artists such as Kwartz, CONCEPTUAL, Freddy K, D-Leria, Quelza, Paula Koski, Annē, Perfo and to play at the well-known Suicide Club in Berlin.
In 2021, Modern joined Friendship collective – a Berlin-based promoter of art and electronic music that organises interactive events and promotes unconventional techno internationally. From this point onwards, his circle of like-minded people has only been growing as well as his motivation.

Амбициозен и готов да продължи своето музикално пътуване, той остава верен на визията си и успешно успява да разпръсне своята уникална енергия във всяко пространство.
Неговият звук въплъщава експериментални разбити груувове, дълбоки и хипнотични елементи и отразява основните му влияния от испанското техно.
Освен върху разширяването на музикалния си вкус, Modern се фокусира и върху развитието на местната техно сцена от началото на своето пътуване.

Exposé 05 - Modėrn

Repping an oft overlooked Swiss techno contingent comes the next guest in Bassiani’s podcast series. Basel born and raised Garçon is one of the most promising names to call the bucolic town on the shores of the Rhine his home. He got an early start, mixing from the age of 14 and booked a mere two years later, assiduously cobbling together influences in his early work and soon delivering performances city-wide. First those at Hinterhof (now closed) and then those at local staple Elysia. With musical collaborator Agonis he’s also fired up techno label Amenthia Recordings, an agar dish for like-minded Basel music makers. His own sonic experiments are a purely live affair, and that’s no bad thing. Garçon’s escapades, from Waking Life to Barcelona’s Parallel have honed his voice and made of him an adept hand when faced with the strenuous demands of modulating crowd energy. Nodding to a range of influences across the electronic map he harbours a superlative talent for finding niche sounds at the fringes of common scope. Enter Podcast 208: towering, no-bullshit sounds, an hour of ghostly, mechanical whispers and powerful basslines, earth-shaking and infinitesimally precise techno from this connoisseur selector.

Erik Luebs is a US-born musician and sound designer based in Japan. Eschewing typical genre tropes, Luebs approaches techno with a playfully disruptive technique, reinterpreting the fundamentals using built-from-scratch patches and labyrinthine sequencing. While the labor-intensive process is inspired by a wide range of luminaries such as Mark Fell and Rrose, the resulting music is firmly tied to the dance floor.

Luebs engages in minimal promotion, focusing his efforts instead on producing a series of monthly singles on Bandcamp. Through word of mouth, his unconventional approach to dance music has led to releases on labels such as The Bunker New York, Nous'klaer Audio, performances at DJ Nobu's Future Terror party in Japan and at Draaimolen Festival in Holland.

We are back with a very special episode for our Exposé series. Not only is it our first episode in the double digits but we also celebrate the birthday of the person behind the mix - Archon.

Born and based in Bulgaria, he is a DJ and producer who has been involved in one way or another in the Bulgarian electronic music scene for more than a decade now. Always eager to explore and find new experiences, he has been entrenched in the local underground. You can find him mostly in TABA Record Store, where he frequently collaborates, and sometimes he can make you a mean rakija sour.

Get ready for a very special one as it only contains music by Archon himself.

Exposé 10 - Archon

Jin Synth is a music producer from Taiwan who moved to the UK in 2021 and currently lives in London. During her school years, she studied classical music before progressing to folk guitar and electric bass. Over the last decade, she has concentrated on synthesisers, modular systems, and the in-depth study of music plugins. In 2024, Jin was invited to host DAW workshops at the University of the Arts London. 
Though her DJ mix is techno based, she frequently incorporates experimental sound elements as well as subtle touches of warmth and gentleness into her set.

Cio D’Or hardly requires an introduction, having long stood as both a pillar of our scene and a source of inspiration for so many. Over the course of her singular and decades-spanning career, the Cologne-based artist has cultivated a universe of sound entirely her own, immediately recognizable yet endlessly evolving much like the work of her contemporaries and collaborators Mike Parker and Donato Dozzy. To experience Cio’s music is to follow a throughline that traces the complex history of contemporary techno in a single gesture, compelled by the vast unknown and the primordial familiar in equal measure. Recalling the blurred realism of Richter’s photo-paintings or the timeless intricacy of Bach’s fugues, Cio’s self-contained sonic world delicately reframes our own precious lifecycle, a reflection revealed through its elegant and subtractive minimalism.

In collaboration with our friends at Mostra, I’m honored to share a selection from Cio D’Or’s set performed at this year’s edition of the Barcelona-based festival, a sublime triumph from a scholar of sound.

Shubin is the name of a mythological spirit that roams the mines. According to some legends, Shubin is a good spirit who protects miners from hazardous gas. According to others, Shubin is a vengeful spirit causing trouble.

This project strives to bring back online DJ mixes that were once available for listening but have since been lost in time. These "Lost Gems" vary in terms of genre with the main focus being put on techno, house, and electro.

Éxpose is the second series of the project, providing a musical platform for both upcoming and established artists whose sound resonates with the project's vision. Currently, the focus is on artists from Bulgaria, with more countries to follow.

Lastly, the project also organizes events aimed at creating a deeper cultural connection for the listener, with a primary focus on the music itself.
