"Months of lockdown boredom and a lack of nightclubs, house parties and festivals, chemically reinforced togetherness and gurns, has resulted in a new 12” by Paul & Shark.

The first single from the record titled ‘Roxanna_Break_Stuff’ incorporates memories of acid bright neons, the ubiquitous smileys, baggy trousers and bucket hats. Pumping drums, funky synth work and a standout vocal edit makes this one a unique and catchy piece of rave music culture.

The track comes accompanied with a remix by Japan’s rising UK garage producer Stones Taro, who's been featured lately in several places with his on target vinyl releases and precise DJ mixes.

We can only hope, but maybe we are on course to experience a “summer of rave” not unlike that of 30 years ago."

Matteo Ciccarone, better known as Sickarone, is a producer from Turin with a sound shaped by Jungle, Garage, Footwork, and everything in between. His works are entirely made on his hardware setup: an old MPC sequencing various drum machines and synths, allowing him to express his musical ideas in the most direct way possible. His productions are full of nostalgic, properly chopped breaks, tons of pitched and hypnotic vocals and deep subs.

In a blizzard of breakbeats, b-lines and acid hooks, Denham Audio have brought new urgency and vitality to the modern rave scene. The sound they’re pushing is rooted in the legacy of UK Hardcore, but those foundational sounds and styles are given a thorough spruce up, feeding into the buoyant areas of exploration happening between 140 and 160 BPM. Releases have been coming thick and fast, from early outings on Nineteen Ninety Four and Artifice through to a blistering run on WNCL, Frendzone! (alongside Violet), Lobster Theremin, Sneaker Social Club and more. Anonymous producer Kilig (@kiligsounds) debuts on Scuffed Recordings with the ‘Dream Logic’ EP, fusing together elements of UK-influenced techno, minimal, ambient and industrial.

The ‘Dream Logic’ EP is the latest in a string of releases from London’s Kilig, who has turned heads of late with DJ support from the likes of Ben UFO, Call Super, Saoirse, and Midland, and radio plays on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, and the Introducing Hot List.
