The south-west raised, London dwelling artist Eyeza is one of the new figures in the UK’s fast rising underground bass-driven techno scene, both through his hard-hitting productions and as curator and label-head of newly founded Basilica. 

Eyeza comes to London label ‘More Cowbell’ with heavy hitting percussion and pitched vocal chops for his label debut with the track ‘Riddim Testa’. The track aims to blur the borders between the post-dubstep era reminiscent of the 2013 Bristol landscape, with a more newly founded spin on Berlin’s techno scene. The track is coming out as part of the label’s newly founded 'Extended’ series exclusively through Bandcamp, as a fifth edition to their catalogue.

Terrorrythmus is back on the dubcore series with four hyper kinetic slammers in his very own blend of hardcore, juke and bounce bass forest sound. starting up with 4am that crawls out of the fog into a hooked on piano footwork banger which later drops into amen workout. followed by wonk juke on locked vocals. flipside ‚ready‘ is a totaly locked on syncopse rythm work of a mayham. the end up is ‚feel the bass‘ with even more chopped up madness and rave stab moments.

This summer, Boiler Room & Native Instruments took Kode9 to Tokyo to explore the full spectrum of Japanese bass culture. A central focal point of our trip was an introduction to the ancient discipline of taiko: the enormous tree-hollowed drums used in Japanese culture for thousands of years. Originally used as fearful instruments in the theatre of war, it's only in the last half-century that they've been used for performance. As an academic in sonic warfare and the theoretics of bass, Kode9 was our ideal candidate to tackle their sheer magnitude.

Over the course of a few days, he set out sampling various taiko and took them into the studio with Osaka-based footwork producer DJ Fulltono. The result is "TKO", a heavy-duty 160BPM workout that brings the ancient drums right into the modern context of Tokyo's futurist footwork scene.
