"This mix is the nostalgic sound of my childhood.
I’ve been into video games for most of my life but the PS2 will always hold a special place in my heart as it’s the console I grew up playing. I recently rediscovered the brilliance of the SSX Tricky soundtrack and it sent me down a rabbit hole of other PS2 game soundtracks. A LOT of racing games from that period licensed loads of wicked breakbeat so I thought I’d put together a mix of some of the best tunes I found whilst digging."

With the start of the second chapter of our track releases, we are also proud to announce the latest edition of our Equal Podcasts with Rob Collman (@robc) of Stopouts / Alien Recordings (@alienrecordings).

The mix itself is made up of Rob's year long favorites, a few tracks from some talented friends and cohorts, some tracks that he has been digging lately and upcoming productions from Alien Recordings, including one from a new label they are just starting up called "Alien Imprints".

Taking inspiration from UKG, jungle, breaks and house, Stones Taro's music is explosive, packed with high-energy sounds made to ignite dancefloors. With two hours of stellar selections that pack a serious punch, this mix demonstrates Taro's ability to drive the sound of rave into the future, regenerating the genres that define it while remaining true to its roots. 

Following a string of releases in 2020 for Highball, YAM’s offshoot Body Action Music, a return to High Class Filter and Scuffed Recordings, Taro also runs his own label NC4K with Lo-Max out of Japan, focussing mainly on house and jungle. 

He's been a busy guy and we're told there's plenty more to come in 2021.
