German artist @reyou and Ukrainian DJ and producer @aikon_official have joined forces on new single ‘Rain’, out 30th July on Disco Halal.

A haunting, hypnotic electronic oddity, ‘Rain’ combines wandering synths with sombre breakdowns and delicate vocals. It marks Re.You ’s debut on Disco Halal, while Aikon dropped track ‘Fusion’ last January as part of the label’s ‘Singles Club’ run of releases.

Re.You also recently remixed the Aikon single ‘Coming Back’. Hailing from the small town of Ulm in southern Germany, Re.You is an esteemed DJ and
producer with over a decade in the game. More recently he dropped three-track EP ‘Is This Love’ and collaborated with Robert Jankovic on single ‘Push Me’.

A relative newcomer, Aikon has been making waves with a steady stream of acclaimed releases over the last couple of years, dropping records on labels such as Exploited Ghetto, Monaberry and Sweet Music.

‘Rain’ is an engrossing track that marks the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between two electronic talents.

DJs are a nomadic people. Drifting between venues, airports and hotel rooms, they're always on the hunt for new music and clubbing activity. They are, indeed, the Bohemians of the 21st Century. The maiden release for their brand new imprint Happy Camper Records comes from Noraj Cue himself (aka Jaron van de Weg). The Dutchman is renowned for his impeccable productions, and is frequently called upon by others to help mixing and mastering. Releasing on labels like Manual Music, Connaisseur and BlaBla, he has cemented a style that is both emotionally tantalizing and technically sound. Story At The Campfire is a nocturnal journey through dreamy pads, mesmerizing arpeggios and captivating sound textures. 

ACHT head honcho LetKolben picks up the pace with a driving remix, built on an infectious horn and drum section, but still honoring the originals' magical arpeggios. Katerblau residents Mira & Chris Schwarzwälder have transformed the original into a hazy journey of their own, bound to set even the coldest of dance floors ablaze. And Be Svendsen delivers another one of his "hypnotic desert-circus-shaman-cowboy-techno" remixes. All of them are of course close friends of the Happy Camper crew - it's a family affair.

Seth Schwarz teamed up with his funky fellow Be Svendsen, and together they created something that has the same UV index and the same amount of fresh air as a festival with perfect climatic conditions: During its epic 10 minutes of play time, their highly melodic track “Elves of Karoo” grows just as big and exciting as a full weekend on a dancefloor bathed in a generous amount of direct sunlight. Furthermore, Seth Schwarz adds the solo track “Quando Rando” that is slower but just as compelling and that reflects the classical composition skills of this producer in an intriguingly subliminal way. The amount of great producers who contribute remixes for this EP lives up to the idea of a perfect festival, as well – a festival for lovers of catchy yet sophisticated dance music, that is.

Seth Schwarz und Be Svendsen haben gemeinsam etwas geschaffen, dessen UV-Index und Frischluftgehalt einem Festival mit Bilderbuch-Bedingungen entspricht: Ihr hochgradig melodiöser Track “Elves of Karoo” ist in seinen epischen 10 Minuten Spielzeit mindestens genauso groß und ereignisreich wie ein Wochenende auf einer Tanzfläche unter freiem Himmel. Im Alleingang legt Seth Schwarz außerdem den etwas langsameren, aber genauso zugkräftigen Titel “Quando Rando” nach, in dem er seine klassischen Kompositionskünste mit zurückhaltender Eleganz einsetzt. Die Menge der hochkarätigen Künstler, welche für die Remixes an Bord geholt wurden, entspricht übrigens ebenfalls dem Bild eines Festivals mit Bilderbuch-Bedingungen für Freunde eingängiger und doch anspruchsvoller Tanzmusik.

Montreal-based artist Kora (@kora-musique) takes to his own Saisons (@saisonsmusique) imprint to unveil a collaboration with Wuachuma (@wuachuma) and Keli Amarai titled 'Caroussel'. The track showcases a deep and ethereal house sound that's been synonymous with the Canadian talent. The rolling sythn-laden gem follows on from Kora and Wuachuma's inaugural collaboration 'Nuit d'Afrique', and their much lauded Tale & Tone outing 'Naavi'. Now with the additional musical talents of Keli Amarai, the emotive ballad is given delicate and organic touch making it primed for late night excursions on the dancefloor.

'Caroussel' will be released February 11.

As a producer, musician, DJ and serial collaborator, Chris Schwarzwälders distinctive style of deep, restrained house is hard to pin down, but you’ll always know it’s him when you hear it. 

Born in Frankfurt am Main in the 80s, he started playing hiphop in the 90s. While making beats on his MPC2000, he dropped into Offenbach’s Robert Johnson club and fell in love with techno. 

In 2009, Chris moved to Berlin and started DJing at KaterHolzig, where he found a group of people who thought about music in the same way he did. In contrast to the trends of the late 00s, the sounds being made from this little paradise on Berlin’s river Spree were slower, softer, and more soulful than a lot of what was being played in clubs at the time. 

It was here that Chris began to cement his reputation as both a solo producer and collaborator, who was capable of bringing his trademark sounds to a whole number of side-projects - many of which have gone on to play to crowds around the globe. He joined the Feathered Sun collective in 2013, together with a group of friends including Acid Pauli, Nu, Jo.Ke and Raz O’Hara. Dreamy, groovy and often improvised, the collective represented a special kind of musical freedom in which a group of producers came together to create something new in a singular, live moment. 

At the same time, Chris’ friend Mira was making moves of her own, and they started to play back-to-back sets, soundtracking the legendary Monday mornings of KaterHolzig, and now, Kater Blau. The two, who are both residents at Kater Blau, have now been playing together internationally for almost a decade, and have formed a common musical understanding that translates throughout every one of their sets - deep, clubby and melancholic. This partnership has also carried on into the studio, where they have collaborated on numerous hits. 

His most light-hearted side comes out in collaboration with Iannis Ritter, where the two musicians take on a weirder, more melodic & electro approach than Chris’ other proejcts. 

If you were to ask him, Chris would describe himself as reserved, logical, rational, melancholic and humorous. Which is why you’d never hear him telling you about the hundreds of nightclubs and festivals he’s played around the globe, or the number of hits he’s had with his productions. If you’re lucky though, Chris might tell you about his favourite synthesizers, and get lost in a conversation all about electronics and sound. Which is exactly where Chris wants to be - lost in electronics and sound.
