Tonight something opened inside me — quietly, gently, like a door that had been waiting for years without making a sound.

I stood in the warm hotel light, holding a dress I had just bought,
my skin still carrying the softness of the tropical evening,
my breath moving in steady circles.
And as the fabric slipped over my body,
as it shaped itself around the lines I have been growing into,
a truth rose inside me without effort:

I am a woman.

Not as a thought.
Not as a wish.
But as a quiet, undeniable return.

My new curves, the calm in my shoulders,
the gentle rise of my chest beneath the fabric —
they spoke with a harmony I have never felt before.
A harmony that didn’t ask for permission,
didn’t need proof,
didn’t apologise for existing.

I tried on my lingerie the way one reads forgotten chapters of a book.
Soft lace, tender and sure.
A pattern against my skin that felt like recognition.
A bra that didn’t just hold my body,
but held a truth I fought for, healed for, waited for.

Each piece of fabric whispered:
You have arrived.

And I could feel it —
in the way I stood,
in the way my reflection softened,
in the way my breath carried me deeper into myself.
A woman not imagined,
not borrowed,
but lived.

The song came from that moment.
Not from words,
but from the feeling of being finally aligned with my own form.
A melody rising from my chest,
warm and slow,
like the ocean outside the window breathing with me.

Tonight I saw myself —
not in transition,
not in longing,
but in truth.

Warm.
Rounded.
Present.
Real.

A woman after a long journey home to her own body.
