The Love Edits Vol. 10 is dedicated to the infamous Salsoul Records Label.

Salsoul Records was an American New York City based record label, founded in 1974 by the Cayre brothers. Salsoul issued about 300 singles, including many disco/post-disco 12-inch releases, and a string of albums in the 1970s and early 1980s. Artists such as The Salsoul Orchestra (led by Vincent Montana Jr), Aurra, Skyy, Inner Life, Rafael Cameron, Edwin Birdsong, Instant Funk, Loleatta Holloway, Civil Attack, Double Exposure, Love Committee(Gold Mind), First Choice, Joe Bataan, The Strangers, Moment of Truth, Vaughan Mason & Butch Dayo, Carol Williams, Jocelyn Brown, and Charo were at one time part of their roster.
This is my almost 2-hour-long tribute featuring edits, remixes and reworks by the best of the best reworkers out there.

DJ BK and I joined forces this week to bring you a special show of downtempo grooves: slow disco, chilled vibes and slinky sexy beats.

DJ BK is from Germany and is returning for a third time on the show. One of my fellow Disco Waltons, he is a man with a keen ear for music and impeccable taste. His productivity for releasing DJ mixes is off the scale, with his soundcloud page having over 100 mixes uploaded.

Next in our new mixtape series is a heavyweight disco producer we have had our eyes on for the past few years! Making his first trip to Europe from Australia this Summer, we bring you the mighty Dr Packer!

Inspired by the work of high profile, fellow Australia resident Late Nite Tuff Guy, Dr Packer has entered the international disco consciousness thanks to his own finely crafted reworks. Based in Perth and formerly a drum n' bass producer, Greg Packer has been DJing since before that genre was even invented. He's a man now returning to his roots.

Much more than simple re-edits, Dr Packer uses all the skills he learned producing completely original music to rework disco, soul and funk from the extensive catalogue he's built up as a vinyl collector.

So far his nuanced reworking skills have been called upon by the likes of ourselves, Joey Negro's Z Records and lauded by DJs as diverse as Glenn Underground, Tony Humphries, Moodymanc, CJ Mackintosh, ATFC, Julius Papp and Kiko Navarro to name but a few.
