it’s the weekend & we have another g-town resident meant to keep you on the edge of your seat, what’s new? this time round, it’s Scondah. from tearing up stages with metal and punk bands to unleashing pure sonic mayhem as @khronoform503 - Scondah’s no stranger to noise. beyond the distortion and chaos, there’s a deep love for bass. not any type of bass though, specifically the tribal-tinged, bongo-tech side of dubstep. stretch your mind a lil, think 140 bpm heaters with a kick-focused, percussive swing that leans more techno & trance than half-step. 

a nod to that 2007–2013 golden era, it’s rhythmic, relentless and designed in such a way where you don’t know whether to let go and dance, or just stand there in appreciation. in short? administered madness, but Scondah style.

don’t think this needs any more of an introduction..Halal Sol, the house connoisseur who cooks up house music with his whole heart. he’s been crafting grooves since 2013; starting in his bedroom and slowly bringing that raw, live energy to the stage from 2018 onwards. his sound encompasses that 90s house nostalgia laced with wafting synths, deep hypnotic grooves and that signature controllerism twist. it’s proper electronic music with an organic pulse.

he’s played on multiple stages, flipped tracks and dropped remixes for names like charlie lim, b-gourd and intriguant. his latest single to date “Without That” on kopi records was a certified underground heater, no doubts whatsoever. whether behind the decks or behind the scenes, Halal Sol brings soul, swing and his constant little obsession with trains.

Koonz, as nonchalant as one can get. rocked up to his set & casually said he was going to go completely by feel for this, no plan, no fixed routines, nothing…and you know what, for some selectors that works, for others? it doesn’t. with Koonz? it most definitely does.

even with this, his sharp ear for music allows him to weave deep grooves with dreamy, ambient textures like it’s second nature. just smooth, rolling rhythms and the kind of soundscapes that creep up on you. whether it’s the dancefloor or the after-hours haze, Koonz keeps it cool, classy and always flowing. Koonz is good, be like Koonz.

a sunday session, Yuju’s mixes feel like dreams you barely escape from. born in korea but now based in singapore, her sound encompasses deep tech, minimal house and leftfield electronica which transform into soundtracks that tell strange stories. every mix comes with a story, stitched together from the corners of her imagination.

it’s Hammy time with Hammy who we think loves hamsters. Hammy the selector glides between energies like it’s a game. both playful and hypnotic, her sets bounce from soulful psytones to crispy space tech, melodic house to downtempo trance; with the occasional cheeky r&b curveball just for the added measure. a sound that encapsulates the sun and the moon, the light and dark, the sweet with a little sting, we’re pretty sure the idea of one-dimensional doesn’t exist with Hammy.

as a @santaisingapore resident and a familiar figure across the country’s music and arts spaces, Hammy’s been steadily building her resume - fred perry, headquarters, singapore art week, dialingdahlia (art community) and various local community events, we’re sure you’ll be seeing more of her for years to come.
