Shwamp is back with a new album, Heartifact. Consisting of 5 energetic and immersive tracks, it will take you on a ride at the crossroads of various genres; Exploring the psychedelic side of drum&bass and glitch, tinted with playful yet emotional melodies and sparkly sounds that will make your ears tingle.

While making this EP, Shwamp has found a community deep into the underground scene of Taiwan, full of eclectic artists and loving souls. Sharing his music explorations and learning more about the local culture and language with the support of his family and friends.

Creating art has helped him to process emotional traumas and overcome depressive phases.

Heartifact marks a renewal in Shwamp’s influences and is the first of a series of releases, each of them oriented towards different themes and paces.

After spending years in digital Limbo, wandering into the deepest corners of my hard drive, these tunes from the early days of my electronic music journey resurfaced and decided that I should give them a make fresh coat of paint with updated mastering.

Be aware, these tracks have seen the light of day only on very few occasions and haven't encountered a lot of human ears, they're a little shy but they won't bite I promise. Get a nice sound system / headset for them to express their full potential, sit back and dive into my past with fresh ears.

The forgotten tunes Vol.1

Take the leap, move fiercely towards the unknown, sway in rhythm between obstacles and embrace the uncertainty with a gentle smile.

This 11 tracks long album, meticulously crafted with the intention of turning inner demons into house pets, is an ode to self-worthiness.
Shoo-shoo the feelings of inadequacy, this world is chaos anyways, nothing can tell you what to be, how to be, not even orange people or insecure children disguised in billionaire meat suits !

Leap is an hybrid creature, getting inspiration from music of all kinds (mostly shades of Bass music in a larger sense, alright, alright.. not much opera or Metal core going on here, maybe next time). Alternating downtempo, faster beats and at times frenetic psychedelic glitchy goodness.

The opening track "Insidious", despite its eerie name, is a tasty blend of machine-like grooves and emotive themes, setting a strong tone.
From here on, let the ebb and flow carry your mind and soul through
this story, the story of a leap of faith and hope that we aren't totally lost !

The artwork, an original watercolor piece by Taiwanese artist GuaGua Wang is the perfect addition to this release, giving it a strong and beautiful visual aesthetic, and mushrooms are gods by the way, treat them nicely.


Leap

When my thirst for life is hindered by the built-up layers of protection, the fabrication of an illusive self decaying at an ever increasing rate, the chances of being happy become thin. No matter how beautiful, safe and sweet my days may look like, my shattered being is longing to be whole. As I worn myself out for a long time, the wounded being resting underneath the surface started banging on the door, gasping for air, in an attempt to be heard, to be accepted and step into the light without fear, to love and be loved. 

I am brewing my own recipe for happiness; a little of bit of joy, a little bit of sorrow, a pinch of madness, sprinkled with humour.
In the end, I don't want to take myself too seriously. So here it goes, a new album with its quirks, tasty sounds and sweet grooves. I hope you enjoy it !

Deep inside the mountains of Eastern Taiwan a place of isolation was found to let go, forgive, and wash away all the self doubt, grief and anxiety. Guided by the teachings and philosophies of the Zen Buddhist and Tao Te Ching, a state of flow forms from within, dissolving all the troubles into the great river of thoughts and feelings, soothing the soul and easing the mind. This fluid state of energy flows through everything, ever-changing and ungraspable, cleansing us as we let go. Fluide is full of emotive characteristics that touch your Heart, Mind and Soul. A minimalistic approach, highlights the organic elements, instrumentation and real-world samples. This bringing the listeners’ attention closer to the progressive development of the rhythms and melodies. The layered signature psychedelic sounds fill the rest of the sonic plane taking you on a floating adventure full of emotion and gratitude.
