This morning I learned that my great uncle Houshang died last week in Iran. As a young man Houshang worked for the oil refineries in Abadan; in later life he moved to Exeter in England, where he was a shopkeeper, a chess player, and - to my brother and I - a magician. He was an old-fashioned Iranian gentleman, and a perfect uncle. Old age took away his memory, but he'll not be forgotten.

Precious Little

At that time I met a stranger, her story was sad and her voice gentle.. She saw and heard what no one should.. She suffered a lot. I recorded lullaby for her to make our world quieter, less scary, cold nights warmer. Many times my music was written by empathy, maybe this one is an illusion of fear that we pass through. It seems to weep over the idea of utopia, happiness. Everything needs a little bit of silence .. Even music..
