Chris Lorenzo has remixed 'You've Been Gone' by My Nu Leng and you can expect something dark, murky and downright heavy. This is cut through by some sweeping vocals but ultimately it's one to get your best bass face out for. Check it.

Premiere: My Nu Leng 'You've Been Gone' (Chris Lorenzo Remix)

Bixel Boys triumphantly return to Sweat It Out! with the highly anticipated Empire EP, their follow up to 2013's Black December EP, out June 27 on Beatport. While this year has seen a slew of remixes from the LA duo, this release marks the boys' first original work of 2014.

The Empire EP takes the Bixel-coined #BigRoomUnderground sound to a whole new level, bringing it to an arena scale. The rhythmic marching cadence of the drums is empowered by the swelling synths that rise throughout the track before plummeting into  throbbing bass, sure to set off clubs and festivals alike all summer. If Black December was "hard," then Empire is "heavy."

Fresh from remixing the likes of Ill Blu and Little Nikki, Uptempo label boss DJ S.K.T is the latest producer to put his spin on Oliver Heldens x Becky Hill’s ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’. S.K.T’s minimal club edit will be available as part of the ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’ remix package, released June 22nd on FFRR.

Following notable remixes and his Nightcrawlers collab ‘Push The Feeling 2014’, North London’s DJ S.K.T is set to release his own EP by the end of this year.

Oxia & Yannick Baudino - Just As Well EP

For their second release of 2015, Saved Records put their faith in two seasoned pros of the house and techno scene. With a combined total of over 30 years experience between them, long-time friends Oxia & Yannick Baudino step up to the plate and deliver some deep, sultry and groovy tech-house with the Just As Well EP.

“I heard You” is a pacey tech chugger that comes with plenty of drive and purposefulness. Built around a swaying bassline, lush swabs of synth and tight, punchy beats, the track evolves with a thoughtful yet visceral groove. Billie Bergström’s sensual vocals interplay perfectly with the jangling piano keys, creating a spiraling cascade of rhythm and groove.

“Just More” is more laidback but heavier and deeper also. The soundscape is sparser, giving the track a stripped back feel but the beefed up bass keeps its dancefloor head on. Subtle melodies are intertwined in the mix, creating a vibe that is as beautiful as it is functional.

The dub mix of “I Heard You” rounds off the package with a joyful rendition of the original. Just stripped to the idiosyncratic bassline, the track takes on a life of its own and settles into a party mood that is devoid of any tension or drama. It’s just sheer adulterated fun.
