This week on Line Noise my guest is the humble titan that is Mark Pritchard, an English producer who has made everything from jungle to ambient, grime to techno. He has also teamed up with Thom Yorke for a new album, Tall Tales, that will be released on May 9. We talked about the added expectation of creating an album with one of the world’s biggest rock stars and the fascinating creative back and forth of recording Tall Tales; we talked about the bassoon and the cor anglais, Leslie speakers, rock drums and so much more. I wanted to record a straight-to-the-point mix of heavy club sonics. It goes from breakbeat and machine-funk acid into the more percussive, bassier fringes of my collection. As always, I’m obsessed with the concept of the hardcore continuum, and I like to see in which different ways I can tap into it with my mixes, trying to snip and patch many points of club music history into new collages. We go from Detroit to Manchester to Tokyo, Baltimore, South London and beyond with this one.

We’re thrilled to present the second part of the joint compilation between Tracklistings and Division Virtuel Records!

Following the success of the first volume released in mid-June, we continue the adventure with this second chapter - once again showcasing a diverse and powerful selection of electro tracks. And good news: the third and final part will be dropping in just a few weeks.

A few months ago, Grégory from Tracklistings and Atix from Division Virtuel came up with the idea to launch a compilation that would merge the energy of both our projects. The response was overwhelmingly positive - on our side, and across the electro community.

We received an incredible number of high-quality submissions, making the selection process both exciting and difficult. The result: a rich and diverse compilation to be released in three volumes.

This project took time to shape, involving many artists and contributors. We wanted to do things right - respecting each track, each artist, and crafting a consistent and powerful result.
