"Within the boundaries of 140BPM, 'Blood, Sweat & Self' is a complex 4-tracker exploration of self, inspired by the artist & photographer Cindy Sherman and her decades-long performative practice of photographing herself under different guises. Similarly, this EP will see SICARIA weave in different elements of her psyche, from her love of bass and system-killers to her Moroccan heritage and sugary vocal chops that nod to SICARIA’s softer side."

The Blood, Sweat, & Self remix EP is a chance to celebrate women in the electronic space across a variety of genres and regions. A complex 4-track exploration of self, the EP was inspired by the artist & photographer Cindy Sherman and her decades-long performative practice of photographing herself under different guises. Whilst the original EP stayed within the boundaries of 140BPM, the remix EP now extends its hand to the wider bass music scene and highlights the incredible talent across the space.

Blood, Sweat & Self: The Remixes EP [PREVIEW]

Dropping as part of Tectonic Recordings' 20-year anniversary compilation, Rhassoul is my stripped-back soundsystem killer; crafted for deep, weighty impact. The drums pull from my Moroccan heritage, laced with hypnotic rhythms, while the bass is steeped in dub culture, paying homage to the foundations that shaped this sound 🍃

The title, Rhassoul, comes from the earthy Moroccan clay I grew up using, but when split into 'Rhas' + 'Soul', it holds deeper meaning: 'Rhas' nods to the Jamaican social movement that inspired the birth of this sound, while Soul reflects the warmth and depth infused within the track.

"Tectonic Sound lays down the gauntlet for the future direction of the label. The compilation comprises many producers making their Tectonic debut, including re:ni, Beatrice M., Yushh, Flora Yin Wong, and Sicaria, alongside stalwarts like 2562, Shed, and Distance. It’s an exhilarating 24-track journey through experimental, bass-heavy electronic music, with almost all tracks created by the artists specifically with Tectonic’s sound in mind - at an intersection where dubstep and techno meet."

Sitting at the intersection of dubstep and grime, MOVING FWD >> is a high-energy, rave-ready cut laced with lyrical depth. Produced by SICARIA and featuring razor-sharp bars from Emz, the track pays homage to the early 00s and 10s: an era of pirate radio, Bluetooth ringtones, and tight-knit crews. But this isn’t just nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake. 

Framed as a nod to the legendary FWD>> parties, the track is a powerful reflection on how far we've come and what we’ve left behind. With a message rooted in community, reflection, and resistance, MOVING FWD >> urges listeners to be the glitch in the system - to rebuild connection in a world that’s moving too fast.

'Be The Glitch' is a 140 BPM breakbeat journey that moves between soaring flute melodies, choral stabs, and a bass-driven drop. Opening with Marianne Williamson’s iconic Our Deepest Fear quote, the track frames resistance and disruption not as chaos, but as empowerment. Later, the flutes and choir return, softening the weight of the low end and carrying the track to its close; leaving listeners with both impact and reflection. In its final statement, it dares listeners to become the glitch in the system.
