The only guarantee in this world is at some point life will fuck you up. How do you deal with your problems? Do you talk about them, or go straight for extreme measures?

Throughout a certain countryside, there was speak of an alleged group of cultists that would gather to do profane acts in their sharp and wicked tongue, or at least that was the rumor. They were known for the unique and colossal pits they left behind after their obscene rituals, with winding underground passageways that appeared fantastically. Beyond these pits, however, no one had ever actually witnessed any gathering of people in the forsaken countryside at all, much less a single, oddly-garbed stranger that would fit the suspicious appearance of a cultist. No one knew how these enormous craters with deep, complex caverns would appear where there were none before, ones that seemed so ancient and permanent with their cobwebbed veins and dusty airways. No one knew the meaning of the bloodied symbols on their walls, or why the surrounding hills were always groped by creeping mist until they had been burned out and collapsed. No one knew the source of the strange and ever-distant trumpet-like calls that would infest the fog, as it seemed to writhe out of the massive opening like smoke from the Leviathan's gullet. Even stranger were the footprints in the fog, wide and deep like an elephants, but with an awkward, illogical gait and tows like talons, always seen left behind but never seen pressed, always fresh but never new.

Stark was the feeling of acute despair and ghastly tension in presence of these obscene and begrudgingly-named Worship Pits.

The Children of the Screaming Pit were a group of cultists in an old tabletop game I used to run. This is a bit of ambient music I made way back in the day to accompany, in order to sort of give off the feeling you got when you approached even the fog surrounding these behemoth holes in the ground. Who knows what dark secrets and fabulous treasures lurk within it's belly? Mysterious!
