Karachi born, Toronto-based producer, Fahad Ahmad (aka Measure Divide) makes his Clergy debut with a forward thinking dose of techno for the imprint’s 24 th release.

The record opens up with ‘Green’, an inviting piece of alienesque sound design crafted on an infectious groove to lock you in, ripe for the warehouse. ‘Parallel’ hits deeper with modulated bass rhythms that rip through the system over saturated kicks and pitch black atmosphere.

The B-side accelerates the pace with ‘Polaroid’ which encompasses a rhythmic synth hook crafted over raw drum sequences. Closing the record is ‘Druem’ an evolving piece of synthesis smeared in rolling percussion and splattered vocals; pristine for the floor.

Next up is Measure Divide. This year, the Karachi-born, Toronto-based producer released his first record after a five year hiatus on Cleric's imprint Clergy. Here he pushes a fresh take on techno with weird yet interesting sound design. However, he far from an unknown figure in the scene. The past years he has been ½ of the MDD duo, releasing tracks on AnD's Inner Surface and South London Analogue Material. Apart from that he's also organized several parties in Toronto, inviting artists as DVS1 and Blawan. For the next hour, be ready for one of our picks as artist to watch in 2022!

Eva Bohnen is a Dutch DJ and producer, based in Rotterdam. Eva has only just started producing and DJ-ing in 2021, but is already expressing her own unique style. Her love for underground techno stems from the rave scene of the 90s and the alternative punk culture where her roots lie. These edgy influences are noticeable in her sound which can be characterized as raw and intense with high pitched repetitive synth sequences. Together with Denn Punk she runs MEUK Collective, an underground techno collective and record label. Eva is about to release her new 2-tracker solo Bliep EP, which can be expected in the next few days. “I Bliep You” can be heard in this set for Techno Cartel.

Dubfire & Flug join forces for the ‘Magma’ EP on Chris Liebing’s CLR imprint, landing 27th September 2024. The EP marks SCI+TEC boss and Deep Dish legend Dubfire’s debut on CLR, with Argentinian techno lynchpin Flug returning to the label for the first time since his ‘Sincrodestino’ EP in 2014.

Dubfire & Flug’s ‘Magma’ EP on CLR starts with the title track, which sees crackling dub hits echo up top whilst deep low-end courses beneath its steady groove. ‘Magma’ is a raw and overwhelming force destined for late nights on powerful systems, enthralling dancers with its cavernous drops and frenzied soundscapes. ‘Friction’ then eases us in with whirring, electrifying acid as distant synths inch closer, culminating in a shadowy and hypnotic warehouse cut. Chris Liebing comes back to his CLR label this April with the ‘Phantom Rider’ EP, already supported by Daniel Avery, GiGi FM, Jon Hester, and more. The first track, ‘Kaizen’, doesn’t hold back - pounding drums, cavernous dub chords, and a razor-sharp snare-laden groove all play a part in this peak-time offering. Liebing’s ‘Wailer’ completes the package, continuing with more rough and raw rhythm and wonky, unfiltered 303 lines, making for a fantastic follow-up to his acclaimed version of Emmanuel Top’s acid techno hit, ‘Turkish Bazaar’, which closed out CLR’s 2024 and has stayed at the top of the Beatport Techno charts throughout 2025.
