MEGABUFF MIXTAPE 09: ᕼEᒪᒪO ᔕᗩᔕY

@hellosasy is a young female gijinka of a Spanish Bobtail cat with orange hair and no mouth. According to her backstory, she is a perpetual third-grade graffiti writer who is always getting in trouble with the law. Originally known as “Pauli”, she was forced to change her name when she found out she was on the Catalonian Guard’s ‘TEN MOST WANTED’ list. Sasy’s motto is "social communication,” so she first considered "Hi Sasy" before finally settling on "Hello Sasy," her current name. 

It was during her time in hiding that she discovered the leftover electronic energy of a distant cosmic explosion known as the “Convidando Esta la Noche.” With a new identity, she began leaving her lair and secretly DJing at dance parties where she gradually became known for her fast paced booster style. Eventually, her notoriety and fame began to spread across the city. On January 20, 2020, Buenaventura Pascual Ferrer published a note in a newspaper called “El Regañón de La Cataluña,” in which he refers to an emerging DJ in Barcelona known as Hello Sasy. He describes her music style as, “disturbed eurodance with ghetto phonk vulgarity and displays hints of guaracha where innocence is insulted and morals offended”. The author also added that, “many individuals, not just of the lowest class, but also by some people that are supposed to be called well educated are dancing and sweating to her beats.” When the Catalonian Guard discovered that Hello Sasy was in fact the criminal minded Pauli, she was forced to leave the country and flee to Berlin - a well known safe haven for Spanish Bobtail cats. It was under these circumstances that this mixtape was born. This is a journey into the world of criminality, new identities, euro vulgarity and raw dehydration.

Born out of a long desire to create music, Moussakka's journey took an unexpected turn when the world was gripped by the unprecedented challenges of the global pandemic. In the midst of uncertainty, she seized the opportunity to immerse themselves fully in making music.

The idea behind this set was a scene amidst nature's tranquility, where a curious alien-being stumbles upon a lone camper under a star-studded sky. The initial encounter sparks an electrifying connection, as the extraterrestrial visitor's presence ignites a sense of wonder and excitement. The Alien abducts the Camper and they embark on an hour-long sonic odyssey. The pace steadily quickens, mirroring the heartbeats of both the intergalactic visitor and the unsuspecting camper. As the pulsating beats intensify, a fateful encounter unfolds, forever altering their destinies. Afterwards the human wakes up, and the journey seems like a blurr, was it all a dream?

A sweet and sensual mix from London-based DJ Henderson which if you know Henderson personally, it's quintessentially them.  

Co-founder of Organics, a party and mix series based in London and Bristol, Henderson has always had a deep connection with music. Their background in classical and contemporary dance lead to their love of dance music with it being intrinsically linked with their love of movement. The dancefloor for them is a space for self expression, creativity and freedom and as a DJ, their goal is to be a catalyst for these things; for the dancers on the floor to feel that euphoric release so tied to dancing at the rave. Through their dance training, Henderson has been hosting a queer dance class, Shapeshifterz, in London and is also part of the welfare collective Safe Only. Henderson also runs two radio shows on Threads and Netil Radio, has previously played at the likes of Creekside Festival, Dalston Superstore, The Glove That Fits, Corsica Studios, and Electrowerks. 

Speaking about the mix, HENDERSON says, "For my untitled 909 mix I really wanted to put together a selection of tracks that make me feel sexy. For me clubs have the power to release emotion and discover parts of yourself that you never knew existed. A lot of sexual liberation happens on dance floors, so the inspiration for this mix is somewhat of an ode to those experiences. As I gro-w and have a deeper understanding of the music I love, I find the sets that excite me the most are ones that take you on a journey through multiple emotions. ‘Serious’ dance music should always be accompanied with just as many elements of campiness, fun & euphoria in order to achieve this. There’s nothing more beautiful than seeing a group of friends hugging or someone crying on the dance floor - and that is always a goal of mine when I play."
