Balena (she/her) has been living in Leipzig for more than 6 years and has been shaking up the music scene for about 2 years now. 
Her musical journey began at the age of 6 when she started playing melodica and accordion. 
As a teenager she danced hip hop and video clip dance and in Leipzig she discovered her love for DJing cross-genre beats. 
From house to dark disco and indie dance and with a pinch of surprises. 
In this set you can expect a mix of 90s house and 2000s nostalgia. 
Her sound has already brought her to venues such as Neue Welle, Entropie Festival, Elipamanoke and Transit (Chemnitz). 
Since this year she is part of the Tiefgarage Ost collective.

As summer slowly arrives it's easier to get positive energy, 
but if you want some more @balena_j has prepared something for you :)

HAFT, the Iranian duo of Sam Nasehi and Amir Subb, are known for fusing hypnotic synths, deep- rooted pads, and intricate percussion into a sound that bridges traditional textures with modern progressive house. Their debut three-track EP on Balance Music delivers a journey filled with psychedelic undercurrents and shimmering atmospheres that is crafted equally for the dance floor and for deep listening.

The brooding ‘Driftor’ is designed to nudge any DJ set in the right direction. An off-beat bass drives the engine, allowing you to comfortably sit in the pocket of its inviting narrative. Steely drums and percussion form a cohesive frame, while a bag of tasteful effects, samples, and stabs fill the remaining spaces. Once the breakdown hits, in all its subtlety, you know you’re in the hands of professionals. This is essential prog, designed for any occasion.

There is an undercurrent of psychedelia running through ‘Myntal’, hypnotic and consuming. Low- end frequencies double as notes, merging with the bass to create a dizzying effect. Its main-room identity, however, is confirmed by drums that strut forward with propulsive energy. It all points towards a seductive breakdown, its layering teasing a drop that confirms it: this is designed for floors ready to ignite.

Filled with depth, ‘Prism’ shimmers and shakes as synths and stabs perpetually morph. The result is a continuous stream of sonic moments to lose yourself in. Thankfully, the dense bassline and drums bring you back from the edge of hypnosis, filling the space with an elastic energy as buoyant as a trampoline. Then comes the breakdown: bells dissolve into minor-key haze, half beautiful, half surreal: an inviting dream-logic that is hard to deny.
