Jai Guru, Jai Ma is an invocation — a ritual meditation built around sacred numbers and resonant frequencies (full details in the bonus PDF), in harmony with the forces of nature, sacred femininity, and the cosmos.

It calls upon the quiet devotion of Srimanta Shankardev (1449 -1568) — reformer, poet, and pioneer of the Bhakti Movement in Assam, who envisioned a path of love, simplicity, and surrender — and the raw primordial power of Ma Kamakhya, the fierce, fertile embodiment of Shakti.

Two seemingly opposing forces in the spiritual universe, held together in reverence.
This piece is meant to be received not just with the ears, but with the whole body — in stillness, in awareness, as an offering.

You don’t usually hear Srimanta Shankardev and Ma Kamakhya mentioned in the same breath.

One stands for bhakti — for monotheism, for surrender.
The path of the formless.

The other is all form — wild, raw, and rooted.
Tantra, fertility, blood.
The fierce power of the Goddess.
The undeniable force of the Saguna — the divine with form.
The very ground beneath our feet.

They feel like polar opposites, don’t they?
And yet — both are so deeply, unmistakably Assam.

Bringing them together isn’t a contradiction.
It is more like alchemy.
A kind of healing.
A way of remembering that Assam has always held both —
Nirguna and Saguna, bhakti and blood — and done so, without apology. And with pride.

Raag Bhairav, in the lexicon of Indian classical music, is far more than a mere collection of notes; it is a profound philosophical statement, an aural embodiment of deep spiritual truths. To understand Bhairav philosophically is to delve into the very essence of existence, the cycle of creation and destruction, and the human condition.

Philosophically, this represents the initial vibration from which the universe unfolds, the unmanifest becoming manifest. It's the sound of Shiva's cosmic dance, not in its furious form, but in its serene, meditative aspect that precedes all activity.

Played traditionally at dawn, Bhairav mirrors the world's awakening from slumber. This isn't just a physical awakening but a spiritual one. It represents the awakening of individual consciousness (Jivatma) to its true nature, its connection to the universal consciousness (Paramatma). The gradual ascent of its phrases, from the deep mandra saptak to the higher registers, signifies the journey of the soul towards enlightenment.

In essence, Raag Bhairav is a living philosophy, an ongoing revelation. It doesn't just entertain; it instructs, soothes, and elevates, guiding the listener towards a deeper understanding of themselves and the universe. It is the sound of the primordial dawn, forever echoing the truth of creation, the wisdom of duality, and the path to profound inner peace.

Tumbling unerringly towards the halls, as if moved by another, the dreamer does not know he is asleep.

Otto Lilienthal is a symbol. His striving for the conquest of the third dimension is exemplary of our innate human desire to transcend our seemingly two-dimensional lives, with often just a vague idea where this might lead.

For Lilienthal it led him to his death, where he met Ouroboros, the serpent biting its own tail, and realized who he is.

For us it can be a hint - guiding us inward into the great halls of sacrifice, where we too will learn to recognize the taste of our very self.

The husk strenuously takes flight, the core remains everywhere, knowing.
