Perhaps the earliest known recording of certified guitar picker Chet Atkins, this unique, one-of-one instantaneous cardboard disc recording has been identified as a very young Atkins picking over Knoxville, Tennessee radio station WNOX during his first stint there between 1942 and 1945.

This live performance was most-likely recorded by Chet's friend(and fellow musician)Tommy Covington during a broadcast of either the Mid-Day Merry-Go-Round, or Tennessee Barn Dance programs.
