This was our opening set for the second night of the two night run of Papadosio at the Charleston Pour House. We put a lot of love and thought into the development and curation of this set which we believe turned out to be a really diverse and fun performance. This was the first time that we played some of our tracks, introduced a synthesizer for instrumental overlay, as well as dropping some brand new unreleased tracks in here. The track list is below. Tell Me. is a downtempo boom bap vibe that rides over a piano hook that I layered some lofi vocals and synthy horn lines over. It features a distinct vocal sample I created through an AI program using a voice similar to that of 50 Cent that says, “Tell me its real, that feeling that we feel”. Essentially this line is asking for reassurance that euphorically-connected feelings of happiness, trust, closeness to others and enhanced emotional empathy won’t ever go away

I've been listening to a lot of Jazz on 90.9 WCLK during the evenings driving around Atlanta while connecting tones on my routes. The intro song is a little number I made heavily under the influence of Jazz and, as always, all these tunes are originally produced and presented by Tone Connect. “We ended up devising something we call ‘flips.” We’ll start with a produced song, and everyone has a philosophy for playing on top of the produced songs. Alvin has acoustic drums that he’ll play on top of it, and we also have drum triggers for electronic drum sounds so we can get a produced sound from the live kit. When I call a ‘flip’ everyone knows that I’m about to filter out the produced track. When the produced music disappears, the live musicians completely switch their sound to something that’s more electronic. Borahm will drop into a synth bass, Alvin will switch to an electronic kick and an electronic snare. It’s like a quick crossfade. It allows us to go from the produced track, with the band accentuating it, to a fully live band without losing something…It’s completely improvised but we’ve put a lot of time into making sure they know, stylistically, where the bounds are.”

SIDE TRAKD’s story begins in 2014, when he threw caution to the wind and enrolled in Dubspot of NYC. Considered an IVY League-level of learning for DJs, SIDE TRAKD honed his craft with such mentors as DJ Shiftee and Endo.
 
Equipped with talent and armed with his newly-honed techniques, SIDE TRAKD ventured to Gainesville, Florida, where he established his name and garnered a following, residing at Gainesville’s Soundbar and becoming a much-anticipated staple at Lucid Nightlife’s “Too Deep Tuesdays” at Gallery Ultra Lounge.
 
SIDE TRAKD made his epic debut at Spring Weekend last year, where he spun alongside big names such as REZZ, Tommy Trash, Yellow Claw and hasn’t looked back.

Not only has he played direct support for AC Slater, but he's also played alongside infamous names such as Tchami, Bonnie X Clyde, Dr. Fresch, Candyland, and Kayzo, he also beat out over 3,000 other DJs competing for the title of “Destination Okeechobee DJ,” winning the opportunity to play main stage at the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival.
