This is a recording of a track that's being played in realtime by a fully self-contained executable just 4,637 bytes in size (yes, BYTES, not megabytes). Made possible thanks to a tiny softsynth called 4klang. It took part in the executable music competition at Revision 2021

X ARRIVAL

I was so incredibly nervous about this; doing "emotionally charged" music on cue was something that I felt was way out of my comfort zone, and I wasn't sure if I was up to the task - I especially struggled with the first part, which I felt was the most important. In the end, I think that fear permeated the music itself, and I was able to draw on experiences I lived through or witnessed to deliver this, turning all of how and what I felt like into what ultimately became the song.
Influence-wise, I decided early on that I wanted to take the minimalism of Vector Lovers and somehow merge it with the soaring energy of post-rock (like 65daysofstatic), with the mid-section being heavily influenced by - oddly - Nine Inch Nails, The Lion King and Shadow Gallery. If none of this makes sense to you, I can assure you that it didn't make sense to me either until the track started taking shape, but I somehow instinctively knew where to look when I needed certain elements.
In the end, I think the music ultimately ended up carrying a lot of the intro on its back, and it might eventually become one of the favorite pieces of music I ever did.

Through My Veins

"Walking Through the Night" is inspired by the 28-day cycle of the moon around the earth. A cycle almost the entire world is orchestrated by. The ocean's tides. Life cycles. Recurring emotions. The repetitive nature of the verses is part of that cycle. "Once in a Blue Moon".

My (Flex) hands and ears touched his winning entry to the Silly Venture 2017 YM2149-music competition.

!Cube - Elusive Groove (Flex's C64 remake)

This is the final version of my very first song for the British computer SAM Coupe ("Spectrum Advanced Machine").

The song has been made for its Philips SAA soundchip (6 channels). It took the 2nd place on the AAA-Compo 2013 on-line party.

Software: E-Tracker.

Works also on ZX Spectrum with ZXM-SoundCard.

Yerzmyey - Arcane Zone (Part 2)

Love 8bit chipsounds and especially sounds of the SID chip..
