 The Decoders are at it again with another Rotary Connection cover of a cover, the classic known as "Respect" made famous by the likes of Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin.  This time, they have enlisted the talents of Oakland based chanteuse Mara Hruby (www.marahruby.com) and the illustrious Van Hunt (www.vanhunt.com).  This track will be included on their upcoming full length album release, "Adventures From Paradise: A Tribute To Minnie Riperton" coming out later this year. Riding on the heels of their first single off of <i>Vol. 2 (Walk On By)</i> with its orchestral soul arrangements, the second single from <i>Vol. 2</i>, Rotary Connection's "I Am the Black Gold of the Sun," is an ode to the beautifully epic orchestral arrangements of producer Charles Stepney.

But this time, the Decoders have decided to venture into the Brazilian repertoire, incorporating Samba and Jazz elements into the group's psychedelic soul arrangement.

This version features <a href="http://soundcloud.com/wax-poetics/sets/venice-dawn-something-about/">Adrian Younge's Venice Dawn</a> vocalists Loren Oden and Brooke De Rosa on vocals, as well as Jungle Fire's Steve Haney on percussion and Brazilian musician Quetzal Guerrero on percussion and berimbau.

The artwork for the single is an original painting by Los Angeles–based artist Michelle Robinson. Michelle's work has been praised by Cee-Lo Green, among others. For more info, check out her <a href="http://www.michellizm.com/">website</a>.

 SiD Mercutio a.k.a. Sid a.k.a. Siddy a.k.a. Rollnizzle a.k.a. Row Row a.k.a ......the list goes on. Started as a dj in 2000 entertaining the people the best way he knows how to....music and dance. 2 years on, he gets the knack for productions of his own and starts with a simple Playstation (do not ask him for those tracks. He will not let anyone listen to them O_O).

His urge to get his sound heard increased and so, he purchased a pc used various softwares and studied the art on his very own, gaining insight from listening to his inspirational figures in music (Pete Rock,Dr. Dre, Michael Jackson, Naughty by Nature, J Dilla....the usual faves of the most into that feel good hip hop).

Studying at London Metropolitan University, he took up a course in Sound Recording Technology and took part in the prestigous Alchemea Studios which led to the ever expanding knowledge of his craft combined with his enthusiastic and musically curious mind. 

He's held a night called “Urban Flava” in Maidstone, Kent. It was THE definitive place to be on a Thursday for R&B,Hip Hop, Bashment and Old Skool Garage and pride can be taken in knowing that its push in the genre helped to bring the sound to the ears of those in need of it in a zone that was devoid of its true sound and feel.

He has worked with many up and coming artists in the UK and US. A few include, 
1. Anai, female rapper from Manchester of the Hip Hop/Grime group "Black Piranhas" also linked to the infamous "So Solid Crew",
2. Blitz tha Ambassador, rapper from Ghana based in Brooklyn for his album "Double Conciousness" (Wherever You Are) and the Making of Double Conciousness DVD,
3.  Frenzik, UK female rapper from London, 
4. Kwest UK male rapper also in London, 
4. Tiffany Jade, UK RnB singer, 
5. Soulful Sista, yet another lovely UK female RnB Singer, 
6. Tresor Hugo, another rapper from the states of which i did a remix for his single hit "Fresh As I" , 
7. Ade Omotayo (backing singer and performer for (late) Amy Winehouse), 
8.Remix for up and coming sensation, Meleka, on her greatly acclaimed track “Go”, 
9. Ella Montclare for the track "Mind Blowin" 
10. Remix for Robert Glaspers "Move Love" from the album "Black radio"
11. Remix for Azealia Banks single, "Chasing time".

and a lot more remixes which seem to be his current staple. He has an Album of his own in the words titled "tha Inner Recollections of SiD" due out on the 5th of February, 2015 through digital mediums.

 He has also dealt with soundtracks for documentaries. As stated, a musical track was done for the "Double Conciousness" making DVD, soundtrack for an African Charity ad, worked with FORD for a Christmas party video. 

His style deals with melodies and grooves are his thing with a touch of “tha soulful vibe” that's not too hot or too cold to digest into the soul.
