Exactly the México design book I’ve been looking for. I also ordered Taschen’s Living in Mexico with great excitement, only to return in with a big disappointment. It focused more on expats’s/ gringos’ homes and resorts. There’s was seriously only one true Mexican home featured and one couple who’s home they featured complained that they had to bring their Bauhaus furniture from NY and that Mexicans didn’t understand Design. What a jerk. That alone made me return the book. Casa Mexico however is beautiful from cover to the layout, fonts, photographs, it oozes with Mexico. Thank you for staying true to the title of the book.

While I was vacationing  in Miami,  before retiring to my room every night, Hotel Casa Claridge offered a choice of great  books to read in the library or In the room. I would end up taking one special book w me every night up the winding stairs.  My choice book for 7 days was “ Great Houses of Havana”.  The superb photos  and glossy pictures are spectacular. After returning home  I ordered my own copy and a couple more to be given as gifts. Great value for price. Timeless.  Magnificent in all respects. Very large photos.
The book captures the grand architecture of Cuba’s graceful era of grand houses and gracious living that reflected Cubans great passion for life and authentic leisure living.
The book celebrates the hundred years of Cuba’s creative design that transformed Havana, the past center of Spanish trade into the “Paris of the Caribbean”.  A city of great wealth and style fusing the best elements of three cultures: Caribbean, European and American.  The book creates the magnificent illusion of relaxing in the open veranda In one of Havana’s magnificent residences and  drinking a “Mojito” chatting with the host, an old friend who makes you catch up missed times and shows photos of Havana’s evolution in architecture while spicing  it  with  anecdotes and details of the masked balls and family weddings.
The  only thing missing is a real breeze from the palm trees and a mojito in hand!
