LOFS021

Diegesis: an album about being a character in the dream of the universal mind. A soundtrack to the ever unfolding story-machine that is reality. De-contextualised voices sing archetypal melodies over vivid ambient textures. Shifting layers of time-stretched samples are held together by dubbed out drums. A mood of melancholic bliss and ambiguity permeates throughout. Diegesis is an auditory reflection on the narrative nature of existence.

Olson is a regular collaborator with the ‘LOFS’ collective run by Number One, Oshi Moon, eleu, Jamie Genome and Adam Barnes.
Olson runs the LOFS x Crend Request Party ‘2 Crends Deep’ with the rest of the LOFS crew, not being afraid to stray away from his calmer ambient side he can be found regularly closing the night with an array of dance music spanning from jungle, footwork, techno and beyond. This can also be experienced with his dance floor focused releases on labels Audio Bambino and RLO.

ERA C, the new project from Sofia Insua of the Guatemalan group Easy Easy [@easyeasyband] and Mirza Ramic of the American duo Arms and Sleepers [@arms-and-sleepers], released their single ‘FÁCIL’ last summer. The group now returns with an EP centered around the single, with an instrumental version of the track, a remix from @Yppah, and the new instrumental track 'resurrection'.

Debut album coming May 2021.

"The third album in the series continues our dive into hyperglitch with Weaving Ritual by Sunnk. This album was one of the main inspirations for making this series. It's deep and emotional, expressive and raw, tech-y and precise. The sound design is endlessly fascinating. I find myself pausing to re-listen to individual moments over and over again, trying to understand what exactly is going on. And somehow, even with all this technical complexity, the album comes across as natural, as if each maneuver was as effortless as a press of a key. The story of the album is patient but unafraid of being abrupt or pushing the listener away. Weaving Ritual feels like a dark spell cast in the middle of an abandoned street. A vortex that we are pulled into. Dragging us through our darkest memories kicking and screaming, pulled inside out. Blending into a fog of thick heavy smoke that collects into liquid that slides down the gutter. We wake up from the hallucinations in the final moments of the album and find ourselves running but can't remember from what."
