Converge is the second movement of a larger work called "Music for Horizon Lines"

Converge makes use of live electronics via Max/MSP, complimenting the textures of the acoustic instruments and enhancing their sound world. As the piece progresses, there is a gradual shift in texture from the highest sounds(triangles)down to the lowest sounds(bass drums). The electronics accompany this shift in texture as the spectrum of sound between high and low is traversed and explored. This work takes inspiration from viewing a sunset on Lake Michigan and its gradual process with the eventual convergence at the horizon line where the sky meets water.

Converge

Zyklus für einen Schlagzeuger is a percussion solo composed by Karlheinz Stockhausen. Premiered in 1959 by Christoph Caskel at the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music and inspired many later percussion solos to come. The piece is assigned No. 9 as it is the ninth work in Stockhausen's catalog.

Live recording of the first movement "Harriman" from Chris Cerrone's epic percussion solo, "Memory Palace". This movement has the percussionist play a scordatura (detuned) guitar in combination with live electronics, creating an atmosphere that captures the memory of a meaningful camping trip the composer took a few years back. 

This performance was part of Latitude 49's "Time Past, Time Present: A Musical Remembering" which was a concert we developed to explore the idea of music as a form of memory. 
This concert was recorded live at the Detroit Institute of Arts, Rivera Court as part of the Friday Night Live! series hosted by the DIA.
