Sundries has already established the now well-known "Disco Goodies" series, with the fourth VA compilation in a row featuring obscure disco and boogie gems that cater to diverse tastes and occasions. This series is dedicated in memory of Juan Vargas aka Sould Out who sadly passed away 2 years ago. This 6-tracks EP kicks off with "Soul Driven Dynamics" by Berobreo, which opens dramatically, setting a curious tone as it builds tension, leaving us anticipating a resolution that arrives unexpectedly in the form of a loose, seductive soul sample cut. Oldchap brings a touch of sunshine with groovy, free-flowing track "Coloridos", that carry the happy spirit of latin disco, perfect for enriching any feel-good DJ set. "Still Come Home" by X Gets The Crest wraps up the A-side, combining a baritone sax and funky bassline into a well-balanced blend of styles. The B-side ventures into Afrobeat house with "People Says" by Alexny, featuring hand-drummed rhythms and chanted vocals layered over solid kicks. Sould Out delivered another boogie-funk gem with the excellent "City Gal", while Workerz closes the EP with "Since You Came" an uplifting track filled with soulful vibes and heartfelt expression.

I Got the Floor (Disco Tech Edits e/r) [ORE041]

Having been one of his biggest festival tunes in the summer of 2014, the Luxxury mix of Greg Wilson’s 'Summer Came My Way' - which originally surfaced on last year’s 'Schooled In The Classics' 12” - was put on the back burner throughout the winter in readiness for a full 2015 release. 

Given the fact it's become a firm seasonal favourite for Greg, we've decided to upload an ambient mix Luxxury put together back in 2015, which hasn't previously been heard before.

Sometimes composition is a long and arduous process, other times a song arrives fully formed. The latter was the case for Greg when he imagined 'Summer Came My Way' as a vehicle for hitherto unknown vocal forces of nature, The Reynolds - twins Katherine and the song’s lead singer Carmel - who, by beautiful serendipity happened to live within a mile of Greg’s Merseyside home.

Bursting out of LA with a lavish twelve-part re-edit series in 2014, Luxxury’s brand of hazy, slo-mo reworks - a West Coast Balaeric fusion - has catapulted him onto the world stage. Opening his mammoth eight- hour Berghain set in 2013 with Luxxury’s 'Hotel California' rework, Greg helped bring his Los Angeles vibes to wider attention, bolstered by his subsequent support of other reworks; 'Night Fever' and 'Riders On The Storm'.

A victim of his own success, 'Hotel California' gained Luxxury a little too much notoriety and, after a Wall Street Journal interview began circulating, Warner came down on him like a ton of bricks on finding out he’d used The Eagles’ multitracks. All was resolved however and his career has grown from strength to strength since then. The Luxxury approach perfectly fitted Greg’s vision of the song and the result is a glorious nine-minute epic, just in time for the summer. 

Two years on, this ambient mix captures the mood in dying days of summer, placing The Reynolds in a more mellow and ever so slightly melancholic context.
