Originally conceived as a personal tribute that Simon wanted to make for one of our favorite all-time artists a few months ago, this remix was inevitably passed from hand to hand between professionals, becoming a private underground hit supported by heavyweights such as Guy Gerber, Seth Troxler, Luciano, DJ Yellow and, of course, Simon’s friend and Natura Sonoris label boss; Henry Saiz.

After some plays, Henry kindly asked Simon to make an instrumental version that would be included in his Balance 019 Compilation. This track became Simon Garcia's 'If This World Were Dub', and finally got into the much-anticipated Henry's mix of exclusive tracks, edits and remixes.

Now, celebrating new volumes of the Henry's Balance singles, we would like to share the original Marvin Gaye tribute with the rest of the world as a giveaway. We hope you like it as much as we do.

Langenberg has been busy releasing his distinctive brand of knowledgeable deepness for well over half a decade now. As co-founder of the Essen-based label Mild Pitch, the man otherwise knows as Max Heesen has been responsible for some sublime moments in house, both on his own label, and for imprints such as Liebe*Detail, Drumpoet Community and Poker Flat.

Here, Desseous Recordings get their hands on the sumptuous release The Finisher. Informed and influenced by the classic Detroit sound, Langenberg produces yet another exceptional transmission. The title track is a smooth like liquid gold, yet contains a dub-tinged techno edge reminiscent of Langenberg’s Ribn project with Manuel Tur. The soulful piano interplay is pure Detroit meets Essen, and combines to produce one of the year’s standout moments.

Next up is Wait State, a bouncing groove featuring Langenberg’s trademark crisp drums and percussion, and a fantastic revolutionary vocal sample.

Sun and Sorrow is on a more driving tip, but maintains a familiar minor key motor city deepness. Also present here as a digital bonus is Sun and Sorrow Dub, an essential rework and a dub-wise dancefloor excursion for the heads.

Sifa is back with more brilliance on his Depth label that comes with some conceptual back stories.

Actarus is the name of the EP and it comes from the Japanese animation Grendizer, in which Actarus (Duke Fleed) was the name of the principal character . His planet was destroyed and he found refuge on earth with a robot. This track is inspired by the episode where he loses his wife Vegalia: It is a masterfully melodic cut with deep, rolling techno drums and lush synth chords that take you on a trip.

Cobra also comes from the Japanese animation Cobra Space Adventures, who is a space pirate traveling into space and living different adventures. The track is another majestic one with sci-fi pads and a rubbery bassline that rides up and down the scales as you glide through the galaxies.

This then is a true storytelling and evocative EP.

Hotly tipped newcomer Yulia Niko joins the Watergate collective, delivering an exciting label debut to mark the occasion.

The Russian-born, Berlin-based artist has piqued the ears of heads with quality releases on Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical and her own TochnoTechno imprint. She steps up for Watergate Records with an inspiring maiden EP, augmented by remixes from YokoO and Francesco Mami.

‘Manifesto’ is the intriguing opener, as intergalactic synths rub shoulders with a chugging groove for an ultra-cool finish. ‘Passion’ is heavy on vibes, pairing an enchanting vocal with a colourful bed of percussion. YokoO contributes a subterranean ‘Defragmentation’ remix of ‘Manifesto’ on the minimal tip, before adding some warmth to the palette teaming up with Francesco Mami for a ‘Vegas Mix’ primed for the afterhours with its deep grooves and shuffling beats. ‘Hurts So Slow’ reinforces Niko’s versatility, imbuing a dusty house vibe primed for late night sessions.
