For the past 25 years, we have had loads of support for the song in various forms from our family, friends and the general public of which, a small part knew us as a band and a huge part who just knew the song. Many consider it their favourite "gaumee lava".

In 1996, our Dad wrote the Dhivehi lyrics to a Sinhalese melody and the band came up with our arrangement of the song. The song almost single-handedly became the identity of the band by the time we stopped performing together a few years later.

Last 10 years or so, we have had many requests for a re-do by the band or for Aisthu to collaborate with other artists/producers to remake it. We wanted to. But time and various other reasons kept us from it. Until now that is.

We found no better time than its 25th Anniversary and no better collaborators than the children of the band members to re-do the song with. And we found no better day than the 26th of July, our Independence Day, to release this edition.

We dedicate this version of the song to our Dad, Ahmed Jaleel (Irumatheege), who was the architect, manager and all-round driving force of a Maldivian family-band called Amazonas Juniors (1988 - 1999).

To me, this track exemplifies the idea that I've always tried to incorporate elements from multiple genres into my songs. In this instance, I took cues from my Drum and Bass roots and fused them together with the Trap-leaning style I've come to be known for. Anyway, I'm excited to finally gets this song in your hands!
