Years after his last release, spending much time to recreate and improve his creative toolset, Cord is back with a new dose of beats.
His story began in the 2000s with taking part of the breakbeat scene, using his unique sound with granular effects, vocals and bass. Much later his interest was turned towards glitch influenced genres, resulting in an EP in 2005. Then he decided to improve his music process, to achieve a more colorful sound, resulting in the four tracks of Maktub.

Sati (Sanskrit: सती / satī) is derived from the name of the goddess Sati, it is a historical practice. The track utilizes a triplet driven base around a solid bass, fitting in a brooding and dark atmosphere, filled with twisted sounds and a speech describing daily mental practice.

Maktub contains more melodic contents, a fusion of different influences. Between sampled instrumental elements, arps and synth lines create a colorful balance to drive the listener to a cordial place somewhere in the middle east.

Songbeam is a collaboration with UK midtempo producer Tryptich. It combines melancholic atmospheres and textures with driving beats and bass to create an emotive, yet funky journey.

Rainfall transforms a beautifully sad Hungarian folk song into a seven minute long psychedelic glitch-trip. With the use of vocals from Éva Takács folk singer, the track’s ending with the unedited song elements is the perfect closing for the EP.

Tribal Alchemy - The Path Of The Warrior

The Path Of The Warrior journals Tribal Alchemy’s personal spiritual process over the last several years, and tackles some of the most challenging concepts on the path to liberation and activation. This EP captures 4 years of Tribal Alchemy’s life, it was envisioned and initiated on the traditional land of the Djabuguay, in the jungles of far north eastern Australia, and finished on the active volcano Ruka Pillan (the house of the Gods) in Patagonian Chile, traditional land of the Mapuche.

“My way to process difficult themes is through music, it gives me an opportunity to dive deep and distill the most crucial understandings of the human experience in to a form that can be shared and understood by anybody who has the intention. The journey to personal sovereignty requires that the ‘human self’ dies, making way for our infinite and eternal selves. It is a path for the warriors. The warriors that want to realise the greatest versions of themselves. It is a long, arduous, and incredibly painful journey of discovery and dissolution, in which the limiting foundations of communal belief structures gets upheaved, sieved, and reassembled, in to a single universal truth; Beingness. Whilst we believe ‘we’ are important, that our discovery and development of our human identities is paramount to life, we will be forever destined to play on the limited field of the mortal ‘self’. The path of the immortal warrior is to realise that in any moment, our true selves are untouched by the passings of daily life. Our true nature is infinite, but the ‘human self’ is tightly finite. What inspires our ‘human’ endeavours, what inspires us to move forward, our desires, must fall away leaving a life of service where no ‘self’ can exist.”  

In Australia, the indigenous rite of passage for men is to go on a spiritual and physical quest of solitude where they live outside the containment of their people. This is known as Walkabout and can last several months of living on, and surviving with, nature. Stripping away all that isn’t real, leaving just the foundations for existence. For this reason, the opening track takes us on a Walkabout and we join the journey on the first night of solitude, starting of a sacred fire without tools before embarking on a journey in to the mind. The theme is that in order to really live limitlessly, “we” have to first die. Through the death of identity/ego/human mind, our infinite selves can guide our existence. 

Sakura opens with a poem (in Japanese), which translates to “in my life I suffered a lot. But none of that suffering was real. It only existed in the mind. None of it touches my true divine self, just the human identity”. Suffering is a choice, a choice that gives our identities more fuel to believe in their importance. But none of this touches our divine spark, that flame burns on unaware of the ‘human’ reality.

Movement captures Tribal Alchemy’s time in western Africa. The focus of this piece is to ground ourselves with movement, stomping on the ground and setting roots in to the physical plane. It features tribal polyrhythms that were traditionally used for this purpose. The pure primordial potential of rhythm and dance is an important facet of human connection with the infinite.

And lastly, The Long Shadow represents northern India and looks at the extensive shadow that our ego casts over our infinite selves. A shadow that obscures our connection to source, to ourselves. “All of this is a game, all of this is ourself”


 It is with deep gratitude and honour that Tribal Alchemy invites us on epic this journey through time, space and consciousness.

Microcosmos Records is happy to announce Life Outside Dali, an album by the legendary electronic project Six Dead Bulgarians.

The project was created in 1995 in Arkhangelsk, Russia by Alexey Chulkov and Anton Kovalev. It originally was a noise project that brought together artists who created electronic-acoustic avant-garde music. For now, the producer of the project is Alexander Chulkov, Alexey’s brother. During its almost 30-year history, Six Dead Bulgarians has released twenty albums ranging from industrial noise and drone to chillout and Slavic folklore.

Life Outside Dali perfectly combines glitch samples, analog synth drones, acoustic instrumental improvisations, shamanic rhythms, and Russian folk songs into a solid steady sound flow. The music of the album takes the listener on a magical journey through subconscious. It is an invitation to trace the roots of Slavic culture origins and feel the connection to distant ancestors.

We were not even hoping to find any life on the surface of Europa where rigid temperatures confine even the most volatile of gasses into solid crystals. Insane radiation emanating from Jupiter was not helping either. However, under a sheath of ice hundreds of kilometers deep we found a liquid ocean teeming with life, none like we could have ever imagined in the wildest of dreams.

Long story short, I gave away one of my first breaks tracks for free a few years ago, it was called 'Beneath The Surface', and a fair few people over the last few months have asked wether or not i'd make something similar again. So I decided to try and write another liquidy chill out breaks track, because at heart i'm a big soppy git.

Bad Tango - Interphase [OUT NOW!]

Sigil, aka Andrew, expresses his inner self in sonic form. It turns out that his inner self is quite patient and elegant, unlike the clumsy meat-suited human that stumbles around Earth. 

He has enjoyed bleary moments waiting around airports in order to perform all over Europe at festivals such as Boom (Portugal), Ozora (Hungary), Anthropos (UK), Kosmos (Finland), Egodrop/Goa Dupa (Poland), SUN (Hungary), Sonica (Italy), Festival Harmonic (France) and of course Suti (though he drives to that one).
 
Andrew has two other musical projects - psy-techno "Unicorn Hunters" with Seb G, and experimental semi-improvised live act "AMP Project" with Patrick Ferreira (clarinet) and Marco Rosa (violin). He is also one of the main disorganisers of Suti Festival, a small gathering focused on cutting edge psychedelic music in Portugal. As "Sigil Audio" he works on sound design projects for digital artists. He lucked out in being welcomed into the epically good label Merkaba Music and rather lovely Portuguese chill collective "Moondance". 

Sigil lists his sense of humour among his strengths, while writing biographies for himself in the third person sits firmly on the side of his weaknesses. If you join his Patreon he will show you some ways to get a computer to make silly noises for you.
