When I gave Erratic Engine the stems to this track it didn’t even take a week and he came up with this. I think it really captures the essence of the original perfectly and especially the general atmosphere of the EP. It is an absolute drum explosion that has a certain meditative feel to it.

Believe it or not, the mail was actually real and apparently comes from a pretty messed up future. So, we played along and since it’s probably a rarity to show such a document, we present you with the more or less unredacted version of this e-mail: 

“Dear XXXXXX, you don’t know it yet, but soon you’ll waste your money on an experimental Hardcore label. How do I know this? Well, my mother gave this record to me, and I think you should be aware that it already exists for nearly 303 years. I’ll always remember this particular smile on her face when she handed me this record – her most priceless possession! She insisted that one day I’d love it. Never in her life was she so wrong about anything; it’s even impressive. However, I thought you might enjoy it since you’re about to release this in a few years anyway. But please don’t try to contact me, it’s useless.”

Attached to this email was a rock-solid 64 kbit/s MP3 rip without any further information about the release. At least the tracks were labelled properly. Of course, our first instinct was to contact this mysterious person. Well, it didn’t work. Who would have thought that you can’t send e-mails to the future? Regardless, we carried on, but couldn’t find this DJ Schienenersatzverkehr. 

Shortly after, we reached out to Hedonist. Sadly, he does not remember writing the remix either. He said that he might consider doing a remix one day, but not right now. Last on the list was LXC, who is credited as mastering engineer on this record. However, he apparently also suffers from amnesia. But he said that he could consider lifting up these frequencies one day. And so he did.
