Biography:

“From a young age, Jens van Daele has been interested in forms of surrealism and other intriguing ways of human expression. This caused him to start his music education, consisting of both guitar and drums, very early in his life. As experimentation continued over the years, his interest in exploring music grew by the minute, causing him to develop a taste for creating more abstract music, while practicing his very way of expressing in context. Years passed by till the moment he met an old friend who shared the similar interest, leading to a future collaboration being born.”

“Together the young artists developed a modular live act, and were soon to be picked up in 2012 by the ‘Labyrinth Booking Agency’ with their project as ‘ABSRD’. Several years of live performances at clubs like XO, Club Vaag, Decadance, Labyrinth Club followed, before Jens realised he needed to spend time on his very own solo project.”

“That’s the moment when the ‘Positiv’ project was born, representing the positive influence on ‘his perception of things’. The producer is still convinced that music can contribute positively to the energy and well-being of people. The variety of his sound depends on his daily experiences and mood, which really shows its colours during the developing of his music and perception.”

“The years following, he stepped up his game to invest in decent hardware material, which until today has a special place on his desk and is featured in his own music. Jens, commonly known as ‘Positiv’ continues to create dub-oriented bass music, which will soon be unveiled in the shape of various albums, singles and other goodness.
