"Fission Vision is focused on tearing apart DnB and elaborating on its many iterations across the genre spectrum from a bass music perspective. There are elements of glitch, jungle, and broken beat placed specifically and intentionally across the five songs. Serving as both nods towards his foundation as a producer and as building blocks of his own unique interpretation of halftime, these numerous genre footprints find new meaning within Fission Vision. This can be heard in the opening track after the bassline drops in the first major movement; while the jungle percussions scrape and dribble in the background, a thick and fuzzy bassline fills up the spectrum. While the drums sound like typical halftime, the hip-hop bass synth offsets the mood with a droning grime vibe. There’s an interesting use of juxtaposition found in the EP, and Sigrah has mastered the ability to mesh together many nods to diverse genres and streamline them into a focused DnB filter"

Fission Vision EP

This is Letting Go is the debut full-length album from North American artist, Sigrah. Primarily known for his depth and range in sound palettes and musical styles, Sigrah often creates remarkably unique moods and feelings within his music.

Prior to this LP, Sigrah has mostly soldiered in the trenches of the bass music ethos ala halftime Drum & Bass, Jungle, and dubstep, and has seen support along the way from genre figureheads such as Om Unit & Fracture, selectors like The Librarian, and even arena-filling artists such as Bassnectar. This variety of support highlights the breadth and reiterates the fluidity within the Sigrah project in its entirety.

About the LP from Sigrah:
“This record was written over the course of a year’s time in which I quit my job, my wife and I sold or gave away 80% of our belongings, packed the rest into an RV, and began to travel North America full-time. All of these songs were written in different geographic locations, as well as immensely different environments. Up North was written outside of British Columbia near Banff National Park. One Revolution was written in the lush green forest of central Washington state. Bad Habits was written in the tiny town of Marfa, TX after viewing works of the artists Dan Flavin & Donald Judd. They all tend to pull context from their respective environments. Some with dreamy soundscapes, others with harsh elements. 

It’s an honest reflection of what it feels like to go through the process of letting go of something. For me, it was many things. It was letting go of emotions like the fear and anxiety of instability. It was physical things with a sentimental value that I had amassed over the years. Letting go of just about every aspect of your comfortable lifestyle, and completely switching things up was quite the roller coaster, and I like to think I managed to capture the process of what that felt like for me.

During this time I experienced intense levels of isolation and solitude being away from noisy cities and bustling urban cores. Often only accompanied by the environments around me. Each place I spent time alone had its own song to sing. The Pacific Coast sings a very different song than the one heard in the Rocky Mountains, the central plains, or the desert of the southwest. With just a laptop, a pair of headphones, my Moog, and a midi keyboard, I feel like I was able to capture the essence of these environments in a unique way. The way I heard them. That was the most amazing part of the whole journey for me.”

"I made a commitment to myself to refrain from remixing any tunes for the first half of 2015 beyond anything I was commissioned to remix in efforts to focus on original productions and projects, but after about 5 months I started getting that itch to remix something again. I decided that I might as well go as big as I could since the inspiration was practically oozing out of my pores. That being said, I decided on remixing James Blake's "CMYK" as this record was one of the most pivotal in regards to anything "future" at the time of its release. It had a really big impact on the way I view and listen to music to this very day."

Camo Commando

This is a productions mix that features all original music and remixes created in the last 4 years. To be quite frank, this is the first time in my music making career that I have been able to record 60 minutes worth of original material into a cohesive DJ mix. I feel this productions mix showcases the depth and range in my productions over the course of the last 4 years, and also signals to a coming of age within that time, musically. Im extremely proud of these selections, and I hope you enjoy this mix as much as I enjoyed making it!
