Stanze Fredde is an independent label based on DIY.
Born in Turin in a time where too much attention is given to appearance and not to content, even in music, our goal is to share the music of emerging or unknown artists to bring people closer to a scene that is not valued as it should be.

We are looking for cold, dark, minimal and synthetic sounds that fully reflect the inner world that characterizes us.

The compilation “Stanze Fredde volume 1” was created with the intention of funding an independent minimal synth festival we are organizing in Turin on November 23.

Bordello A Parigi is on the hunt once again, this time journeying to southern France to unearth an up and coming sect of synthesizer sorcerers: Blind Delon. Hailing from Toulouse, the triumvirate of Mathis Kolkoz, Théo Fantuz and Coco Thiburs offer a sound that combines indie and wave with seemingly effortless execution. The soft interlude of “Sometimes” introduces Assassin. A groove grips pulsing rhythms, subtle strings and throaty vocals in the captivating “Sombre Soleil”. Those vocals become even deeper in the dreamy “J’ai Honte”. Smoke spirals around keys in this brooding work of guitars rifts and bruised egos. The title piece perfectly melds warm strings with cold synthlines for a superb climax to an EP that exudes modern synth-wave chic.

Distortion, static electricity & drum machines turned up to eleven, your next Punk-E Rave Party can be appropriately soundtracked with SQUIRRELS ON FILM’s 3rd (or 4th, who’s counting?) EP, ready to de-sanitize any dancefloor prepared for the adventures in sweat-drenched HEAVY RAVING contained within.

Label Headz Solar & C.l.a.w.s. reach beyond their hometown of San Francisco, to Mexico City’s Yoan Rodriguez LOKIER. Her first full EP for the label, following the appearance of “Headless” on the limited edition Various Squirrels Volume Two, contains four tracks of enthrallingly unkempt body music & neo-goth techno depravity. The Artist & DJ currently based in Berlin is half of She Made Monster with Morgan Hammer, & her remix work appears on Throne of Blood, Ivan Smagghe’s Les Disques de la Mort & elsewhere.

“Last One” is first, a gritty workout in horror rave, all overdriven drums, intricately programed to build alongside arpeggiated synth bass and slasher flick strings, at once classic and contemporary. “Not Always Works” is sleazier yet, featuring LOKIER’s distinctive dead-pan distorted vocals, heard recently on Krikor’s LP for L.I.E.S., put to great effect here atop an ear-worm synth riff and again expertly programed drums, never afraid to bleed into the red. Atonal, yet bizarrely melodic strings and pads drift confidently above. “Tmrrw”  makes use of vocal samples over a pummeling industrial techno explosion… like a Nitzer Ebb cassette that’s been duplicated too many times, turned up way too loud, with an angry goth banshee queen telling it like it is through a broken fuzzbox. “What Is Truth” rounds things off in the murky dub/electro bog of your most lucid nightmares, the drums and synths awash in tape echo and reverb.

LOKIER’s music sits perfectly within SQUIRRELS ON FILM's left of center techno punk aesthetic, albeit with clear intentions on the feral dystopian dance party happening near you. SOF is very excited and honored to unleash this wild squirrel into the civilized world, packaged inside another eye-catching, original hand-drawn full color sleeve by New York artist Bert Bergen. It should be clear by now: SQUIRRELS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN.

The old tapes of ART KINDER INDUSTRIE (EBM band founded in 1988 by the famous french producer David Carretta) were remastered by Eric Van Wonterghem (Prodam/Berlin) for the first time in Compact Disc edition on +Closer² (electronic sub-label of Unknown Pleasures Records) and which will be released at the same time in vinyl 12" EP on the Swiss label Lux Rec. ART KINDER INDUSTRIE - Biographie

– 1987 : De retour à Tarbes(Sud-Ouest de la France), après deux années passées à La Rochelle pour ses études, le jeune David Carretta s’achète quelques synthétiseurs : 1 sequenceur, 1 sampler Mirage Ensoniq, 1 sampler Roland S550, des Pads électroniques Simmons, une table de mixage et un 8 pistes Fostex.
Rapidement il rencontre Xavier Vincent dans un magasin de disques et de vêtements underground, le seul de Tarbes. Tous les deux écoutent les mêmes styles de musique New Wave, EBM, Industriel, etc. et deviennent amis. Il y avait quelques groupes à Tarbes à l’époque, notamment Velours Noir pour lesquels David fera le son pendant un concert et enregistre quelques morceaux.

-1988 : Quelques mois plus tard, David et Xavier fondent Art Kinder Industrie. Ils achètent un Korg MS10 et un MS20, 1 Roland JP8000 avant de commencer à répéter et à composer des morceaux dans une ancienne discothèque abandonnée que possède le père d’un ami. Ils passent beaucoup de temps dans ce club désaffecté et du coup les deux jeunes musiciens et leur ami décident d’aménager et d’arranger un peu ce lieu. Ils ont l’idée d’en faire un club pour y passer la musique qu’ils aiment, étant donné qu’à Tarbes c’était un peu le désert de ce côté-là. Ce club s’appellera «Le Saint» et durera un peu plus d’un an. Ils créent eux-mêmes les affiches et les flyers. Ils prennent les platines, surtout Xavier. Un jour une mobylette prend feu devant le club, ambiance ZONE de l’époque. Puis ils sont obligés de quitter le lieu.

Mais les premiers tracks d’Art Kinder Industrie sont là et le style musical aussi, ils font leurs propres t-shirts et commencent à penser à une mise en scène pour leur premier concert dans le garage d’un copain. Ils porteront des uniformes militaires et des masques à gaz, non pas pour prôner la violence mais au contraire, pour dénoncer les dégâts de la guerre ainsi que la prolifération des armes nucléaires.A l’époque les gens feront l’amalgame et les traiteront de fascistes !Absurde! Ce public révolté ne devait pas comprendre le sens des paroles de leurs morceaux qui dénoncent les totalitarismes, l’oppression et le nucléaire. A la fin des années 80 cette petite bande d’amis s’amuse bien dans cette morne ville de Tarbes au climat souvent pluvieux du fait des Pyrénées toutes proches. Durant une courte période, un ami, Jérôme Vergez intègre le groupe mais David et Xavier retournent à Marseille
 

- 1990 : De retour à Marseille ils font la rencontre de Jacky Mandin propriétaire du magasin de disques Blitz. Ils ré-enregistrent les quatre premiers tracks avec du matériel prêté par un ami. A cette époque les deux amis déambulent dans Marseille, expérimentant la vraie zone, vers le Cours Julien. Ils vivent dans le quartier du Panier, à l’époque un coin dangereux, dans l’appartement de David qui fait office de studio.

-1991 : Ce sera l’année du premier concert à l’Espace Julien (salle de concert mythique marseillaise).Leur premier concert dans une vraie salle! Un ami rencontré à Marseille, Jean-Frederic Mouttet, sera embauché comme ingénieur du son pour ce live. Tenues militaires et masques a gaz sont de retour sur scène. Ce sera un excellent concert en compagnie de Bel Canto et Nocturnal East (Jacky Blitz & Eric Kartalian). Un autre concert aura lieu en 1991 à Toulouse en première partie de Norma Loy et une dernière prestation durant laquelle les deux membres du groupe jouerons dans la rue, installés sur un échafaudage.

- 1992   Dernier Concert au Théâtre du Moulin à Marseille et séparation définitive du groupe.
