"Flight of Light" chronicles the dramatic shift in Inge's world as the idyllic life she knew in Book 1 becomes overshadowed by the growing influence of the Nazi regime.  Inge and her siblings are drawn into the activities of the Hitler Youth and League of German Girls, experiencing a strange mix of camaraderie,  newfound responsibilities, and subtle indoctrination.

The innocence of childhood games and explorations gives way to a more structured and ideological environment.  Inge faces internal conflict as she grapples with the disharmony between the values instilled by her family and the increasingly rigid expectations of the regime.

The book portrays the subtle ways in which ordinary people are drawn into the machinery of a totalitarian system.  The music for Book 2 mirrors this internal and external conflict,  expressing the emotional turmoil of a nation on the brink of war and a family struggling to maintain its values in the face of overwhelming change.

"Flight of Light" is a powerful exploration of the loss of innocence and the struggle to find a sense of belonging in a world on the brink of chaos. The music echoes this struggle, offering a poignant soundtrack to a pivotal chapter in Inge's life. It sets the stage for the dramatic events that will unfold in the subsequent books, as the Feyerabends face the full impact of the war and the difficult choices that lie ahead.

Complicated Christmas is the new four-song EP from Your New Parents that fuses heartfelt indie rock with modern reflections on faith and the holiday season. The collection balances sacred and secular themes, pairing emotional storytelling with shimmering, cinematic production.

The EP moves from the jingly, earnest title track “Complicated Christmas” and the defiant “Gone for the Holidays” to the introspective “Light in the Dark”, concluding with a haunting reimagining of the classic hymnal “Bring a Torch Jeannette Isabella.” Together, these songs invite listeners to rekindle their love for Christmas—even when the season feels complicated.

This song is an almost identical version of an old track of mine with the same name and female vocals. In this new version, the synthesized male vocals HXVOC are incredibly realistic and much better suited to the hardcore style.

The vocals were created note by note in the new Synthesizer Studio Pro 2, using the also new HXVOC voice bank from Eclipsed Sounds. It's a gritty, English-native tenor rock vocalist based on the voice of industry veteran Seann Nicols. HXVOC voice bank utilizes advanced vocal processing to provide a highly realistic vocal and it's built for rock and metal songs.

The rhythm guitars were composed note by note using the Kontakt library Shreddage 3 Rogue.

Platforms such as Suno/Udio were not used in the creation of any part of this track.

The cover art was created in Nano Banana Pro and it's clearly inspired by the cover of The Loosers (Book 2), comic book series created by Andy Diggle and Mark “Jock” Simpson, published by Vertigo (DC Comics) between 2003 and 2006.
