S!LK Compilation Vol.2 - 海纳百川

In the 22nd century, the first public chain of the human community was officially launched, and the world's residents began to migrate to the virtual world. With the infrastructure of the "dimensional universe" yet to be built, people in the virtual world are forced to use the social media and web tools of the past generation to live their lives. Human's plunder of the earth's resources has turned into a struggle for characters, and the deterioration of the living environment and the separation from real life have caused another havoc, manifested in the large-scale infection of mental illness. Yuting Wu, who had migrated to the world of the common chain, accidentally discovered a link bifurcation into the past and with Imryll's assistance, they were able to send an audio signal named Modern Melancholia into the past.

公元 22 世纪，人类共同体第一大公链正式上线，世界居民开始了向虚拟世界的迁徙。由于 “次元宇宙” 基础设施尚未建设完成，虚拟世界的人们被迫使用上个世代的社交媒体和网络工具进行生活。人类对地球资源的掠夺转为了对字符的争夺，生活环境的恶化以及与现实生活的割裂造成了又一次浩劫，其表现为精神疾病的大规模感染。已迁徙公链世界的 Yuting Wu 在机缘巧合下发现了一条通往过去的链路分岔，在 lmryll 的协助下，他们像过去发送一段音频信号，命名为 Modern Melancholia。

Cetra Cetra is a duo made up of Beijing-based producers Numbertheory (Ireland) and thruoutin (USA). The two met through the nightclub scene in Beijing around 2020 and decided to bring their interests to unorthodox club music, experimental sounds, and hard rhythms together.  The word “cetra” derives from a Latin term via Greek for a lyre-form, necked instrument.

"The debut EP from Cetra Cetra, an electronic duo made up of seasoned Beijing-based producers Numbertheory and thruoutin, is a lean and captivating slab of deconstructed club music. From the first warbled bleeps and hollow drum clacks on the eponymous opener Drum Hutong, the intensity only builds, layering a steady stream of choral drones, deep kicks, laser zaps, and crowd and engine roars that eventually threaten to rip the track apart at the seams.


Alpaca Rhythm lets a little oxygen into the room, replacing the driving ferocity of what came before with a sparse and repeating two-step piano chord, a chirpy, almost Raga melody, and deep chiptune bass line. It’s a welcome break before the last and most claustrophobic track of the lot, Yup Patrick, takes hold. Here, a mixture of syncopated hi-hats and disembodied vocals go up against a sweeping drone, cutting abruptly to make space for the squalled, off-kilter through-line. After coming to a head, with several vocal tracks clambering atop each other, the track falls back into groove with distorted handclaps and a tribal, UK garage-inspired drum break.

Taken together, the three tracks here demonstrate the duo’s familiarity with current club trends and hopefully hint at something longer in the works. The dancefloor certainly won’t reject it."

[SK006] Cetra Cetra - Drum Hutong

The creation of Les Larmes d'Eros (Love's Tears) was based on Kousei's reading and understanding of Georges Bataille's monograph - even the symbol of joyful love, Eros, can fall into sorrow. Love, death, pleasure, pain, laughter, and tears are all one.
The dreamlike atmosphere, fragmented jazz drums, deep bass, and some distorted synthesizer sounds form the two poles of passion in this EP, filling it with unpredictable danger and uncontrollable energy under the spell of intoxication and frenzy.
The rhythm tells the story of a tear, hidden deep within the body, wandering in the river of the inner self. If you seek it, you will plunge into a bewildering realm where desire and the unknown intertwine. Taboos break and reform on the lips, still following closely.
Les Larmes d'Éros（爱神之泪）的创作基于Kousei对乔治·巴塔耶专著的阅读和理解——象征欢愉的爱神也会陷入悲伤，爱与死、色与苦、笑与泪原本就是一体。
如梦似幻的氛围、支离破碎的爵士鼓、深沉的低音以及一些扭曲的合成器的声音构成了这张EP激情的两极，使它在沉醉和迷狂之下充斥着不可预测的危险和无法控制的能量。
音韵诉说一滴泪的故事，它隐匿皮囊深处，在内心的冥河中游荡。你若追寻，跃入欲望与未知交织的迷离之境。禁忌在唇间断裂，重构，依旧如影随形。

Really happy for our first compilation release soon. 
This first compilation is a celebration of S!LK so far, channelling the notion of ‘rebirth’ in an attempt to encapsulate the invigorating presence of the collective within their city. Featuring artists both local and international, the compilation captures the dynamic and refreshing nature of their nights, which can be heard in this collection of tracks as they range from techno, experimental, club, dancehall, gqom and grime.

3ASiC - DH 模拟真空吸尘器

这张 EP 创作于两个人生阶段的过渡时期。本能地将舞曲即兴去复杂化，纯粹地对某个声音进行“不愉悦”的实验，再创造旅途中在 OP-1 上留下的声音片段，从清冷古朴的西欧小城乌特勒支来到潮湿温暖的新生代科技都市深圳，不同的创作理念和动机都被记录了下来。

This EP was created during the transition between his two life stages. Instinctively decomplicating dance music, performing the “unpleasant” experiment on some sounds, and recreating the sound fragments left on OP-1 during the journey. From the chilly and historical city Utrecht in western Europe, all the way to the humid and warm new-generation technology city Shenzhen in China, various ideas and motivations have been recorded.

《TEST RENDER 测试着色》里有满满的低音冲击，《3TRX 三轨》源于一次“在素材上做了最大的减法”的即兴，《DH 模拟真空吸尘器》则是在实验刺耳音色的不愉悦性，《Cache of Wind 风缓存》里的竹笛所描绘的形状是不具体的，但可以连接至某种音乐意境，《ANOTHER 另一个》则是对 Halftime 风格的变形。

Feel the bass punches from “TEST RENDER 测试着色”; “3TRX 三轨” originated from an improvisation of the idea "the biggest subtraction on the materials"; “DH 模拟真空吸尘器” is experimenting the unpleasantity in sound design; The shape depicted by the bamboo flute in “CACHE OF WIND 风缓存” is not specific, but it can bring you to a certain musical mood, while “ANOTHER 另一个” is a deformation of Halftime music.

“直接”、“毫无修饰”、“简单”是这张 EP 的主要关键词。相比于其他精雕细琢的作品，那段时间的他更喜欢这些听上去似乎并不成熟的歌曲里的情绪表达，因为里面有一些生猛、粗糙、本真的东西让他觉得异常珍贵。

"Direct", "undecorated", and "simple" are the main keywords of this EP. Compared to other carefully arranged works, he likes the emotional expressions in these songs that seems immature, because there are some fierce, rough, authentic things that he feels very precious.
