For our Silky Session 02, we’re excited to turn our heads towards the more north side of the globe and welcome Erik & Adam, two relatively new faces of the Silky Tunes family, to the spotlight. 

Erik & Adam are longtime friends & dj colleagues, both deeply engaged within the Stockholm underground music scene where they have been organising parties in various locations for several years. But perhaps they are best known for their work with Lidelsen (The Passion), an annual music and arts festival hosted in the Stockholm archipelago during the lush Scandinavian summer months. As many other festivals in the past, Lidelsen started out as a spontaneous birthday party on a large open field amongst friends and later turned into something big and real. The festival is still managed and neatly co-created together with the same friends as back then - the Lidelesen community.

Becoming a DJ was never the goal for Erik & Adam, but came as a result of all the years down the 'rabbit hole’ as well as their shared passion for colourful and fun dance-floor friendly music. 

Their Silky Session mix first sets out on a colourful afro-disco voyage. It transitions through a landscape filled with synths and drums before it ends up on the more housey and vocal end of the spectrum. Enjoy!

Silky Session 02 - Erik & Adam

Globetrotters, time travelers, fun seekers, vinyl diggers, dance lovers… Many are the types of beings that thrive in this sonic culture of ours, finding shelter and happiness in this sensorial and emotional universe fostered by musical communion. And the creatures therein are more than just characters, they comprise the fauna and flora of these aural environments in which we dwell and revel, sustaining it with both their projects and their passion. Take the magnificent French trio known as Bayetë for example, an autonomous ecosystem of discovery and debauchery that strives to create the perfect conditions for our enjoyment of the treasures they find in their excursions across the world. A noble purpose that is so powerful that it does not solely rely on the collective's togetherness to exist, each of its members carry that same seminal drive in everything they do individually. Something we can perfectly perceive in this episode of Gop Cast where Simon, one of its members who recently relocated to São Paulo, manages to encapsulate the eclectic excellence of their musical abundance in a stellar mix of moods, grooves and everything in between.

Right when you thought the 80's had been mostly dug out, the "Night City Life" compilation hits the shelves. 
Ever since we heard his compilation for Spacetalk we were blown away: one of the best curations of early MIDI dancefloor/radio oriented productions we'd heard in a while. Truly refreshing to the human ear, not to mention the heavy research behind it. As such, we've wanted to book Ilan ever since but then COVID happened. Still a wet dream to see him do his thing live but for now here's this amazing bit of aural goodness to get you in the right mindset. 

Ilan is a London-based record collector. He can often be found posting the artwork of 80s vinyl from his collection on Instagram; a patchwork of nostalgia from musical days gone by.
