There are lots of wicked events coming up at The Volks in the next few months..just to name a few biggies that I'll be rinsing hard to by the RC1 Soundsystem bassbins, we have:

There's also a new event hitting later in the year too, but I am not sure I can say much about that at the moment..so watch this space! ;)


2. Tell us about gigs and guest mixes you have coming up.

I am having a couple of months off of playing out in the clubs, however, I will be recording some mixes. I have some record shopping retail therapy dates planned in London in the next couple weeks, so I'm looking forward to dropping in on Lewis & Chris at Planet Wax and a floating around a couple other record shops to top up the collection!  


3. Ghosts, do you believe in them, why or why not?

I am quite a spiritual person, so I like to think that ghosts exist, I hope they do..otherwise wtf was that 'shadow man' I saw standing at the top of the stairs for months when I was 8?!! hahaha.

The end of 2024 is near and for this special Year Mix episode 15.
I am taking you through a darker and heavy  and more  moody atmosphere
Inspired and based on my set that i did at Drop! Out Festival at Beton Utrecht this year,  but without losing my true soul in the music.
DROP! Is in my opinion one of the first drum n bass  and other breakbeat
related bass music event,  that experiment with hardcore and tekno and other “out of the box” music.
So in this mix i play some hardcore and some dubstep and UKG to.. (at the end ;))alongside some of my last years fav tunes and  cheeky dub by Mindmapper and myself still in progress.

Now they coming back and they got some nice things lined up for 2025.
So besides i am happy that i am  involved again so i can keep going sharing
my love and energy even after almost 30 years in the dnb jungle game i am not
ready for retire.
and i am never done doing storytelling mixes.

In her EP Separation, released on Paperfunk Recordings, RiANTHE transposes the very notion of separation into sound: a tight kick-drum thump ticks off the seconds of an expanding rift, a dense bass line pulses like blood retreating from shared memories, and gauzy synth layers slowly shear apart, leaving a transparent corridor of silence where you can hear a new identity crystallising from the shards of former closeness; the music does not merely illustrate detachment—it inhabits it, revealing how an act of separation widens the space to breathe, and how, in that sonic pause between “we” and “I,” it finally becomes possible to hear one’s own echo.
