Built for sound designers who crave the unexpected, Friction is a collection of weird, character-rich creaks that refuse to play by the usual rules. These aren't your everyday groans and squeaks. Every sound in this library has a distinct personality, crafted through experimentation, custom-built props, and a little bit of mad-scientist spirit.

To create Friction, we didn't just ransack old furniture (though we did that too). We grabbed bows, springs, cardboard, metal sheets, and whatever else looked promising — and then coaxed out textures and tones that feel alive, unpredictable, and deeply cinematic. Some creaks sing. Some stutter. Some sound like machines half-remembering how to function. All of them are dripping with character.

Friction Sound Effects

The Antique Clock sound library features a set of recordings consisting of both an authentic vintage table pendulum clock and a large classic wall clock complete with elegant chimes. The focus of this pack captures detailed recordings of the two distinct chimes of each clock, designed clock ticking, and inner mechanical clock movement.

This collection evokes a sense of crafted precision and quiet stately nostalgia, recorded in our completely silent room with the focus on capturing the highest possible detail using professional pre-amps and microphones with expert placement. Our recording setup for these types of recordings, like the Antique Mechanisms sound library, provides the full, rich and detailed personality of these classic mechanical timepieces. This library follows the Universal Category System for file naming and description.

This vast sound toolkit collection is inspired by the need for a modern all-around solution for sounding detailed real world open/close object interactions.

So often, as a sound designer, we will spend too much time cobbling together a bunch of unrelated sounds and manipulating them to fulfill the sounding of the simplest of interactions. This toolkit has been built over the years to simplify that process. By choosing a variety of objects and material types that click open and close, slide, bang, latch, shut and scrape, we have come up with a collection that will save time.

Each file has been meticulously recorded, edited, individually mastered, and embedded with descriptive metadata to fulfill the quality needs of any project.

Tech specs:

411 files with embedded metadata, all at 48khz 16 bits, 190 Mb. Also included are embedded mp3 320 kbps audio files, 59 Mb.

Recorded with the Sony PCM M10, Zoom H4N, Marantz PDM50 with Audio-Technica AT8035 and Audio-Technica AT825.
