Freedom meant different things to different people. It came in different forms... There were globally recognised freedoms; human rights that we all should have though many didn't. There were personal freedoms, the little things that were individual to you, some might understood them but others might not. Then there were shared freedoms; burying yourself in a good book, beavering away in the kitchen, sweating it out in the gym, or losing yourself in the music and dancing your cares away.

It's no secret we've been fans of Leipzig's R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings for some time. Well now they're expanding the label family with a brand spanking new offshoot, Breakfree Records, headed up by R.A.N.D. label manager Reece Walker and his pal Salomo. It just so happens that the pair are also very talented producers (you might have heard their tracks on the parent label before) so they're taking matters into their own hands for the debut release, FREE01, which in typical fashion sees them journey through house grooves and techy pumpers.

Continuing  their  series  of  deep  body  music  with  the  seventh  instalment,  Silverlining  Dubs  has  announced  ͚Silverlining  Dubs  (VII)͛.  The  Silverlining  Dubs  series  has  been  on  the  go  since  2016,  with  its  sixth  instalment  having  been  released  earlier  this  year.  The  series  was  created  in  response  to  the  high  prices  Silverlining͛s  early  releases  were  fetching  on  Discogs;  Asad  Rizvi,  the  man  behind  Silverlining,  wished  to  make  the  music  more  accessible  to  ordinary  vinyl  buyers.

 Previously  featured  on  the  Mirai  compilation,  "The  99  Year  Wait͛"  is  a  spaced-out  techno  jam.  Featuring  a  steady,  rolling  beat,  various  synths  filter  in  on  top,  from  rattling  and  reverbed  stabs  to  softer,  more  ambient  chords.

In true Craigie Knowes spirit, Derek has been drawn off of the beaten path to supply a wider variety of sounds than you would usually expect to hear from the Irish producer. Acid, Techno and Detroit Electro tinged sounds throughout.

Detroit’s Delano Smith joins My Baby Records to release two soulful originals including remixes from Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts and Chuck Flask & Keith Kemp.

Of the original crop of Detroit DJs, Delano Smith is now one of the last remaining. Coming up at a time when the world was just discovering the influence a DJ could have, Smith battled his way to the top in a tough scene full of talent. His story is long and intriguing, running parallel to many of the developments not just in music but society at large that have shaped our modern world. Delano has continued to DJ worldwide for many years whilst delivering quintessential releases on a consistent basis on labels such as Sushitech, Mixmode, Third Ear, and now My Baby Records following artists such as Remote Viewing Party, Rex Sepulveda & Acid Pimp and Mister Josooa & Rickers.
