Yesterday, High Voltage (Edwin van Kan) announced on his socials that the High Voltage project is discontinued and he will no longer perform. This is why I've decided to make a little tribute mix containing my personal High Voltage favourites.

The last time I saw him perform was at Rebirth 2024, where he played a lot of tracks from his 'Signs of the Apocalypse' album, which I had never heard live before. 
The most memorable moment for me was when he played Bombs Away in his set with B-Front at B-Front X-Qlusive 2016, this track is from 2002 and I still play it in sets along way newer stuff from time to time.

Too bad there won't be a final High Voltage set somewhere this festival season, sometimes you never know when it's the last time you've seen someone until it's too late.

Honored and blessed I was asked to play a 'qlubtempo(-ish)/early hardstyle' set during Jones' his own 6hrs solo event at the legendary Doornroosje in Nijmegen. Really had a blast playing there and play those golden oldies for the older and newer generation of hardstyle lovers!

Hereby my submission for the HCL × Intents Festival Contest. Instead of just playing the big hits or trying to catch the vibe for an openingsset (cause I have ton of them and know how they should be) I've laid my focus to my way of mixing and my skills for some cool and more daring transitions, something that I personally miss nowadays in the classics scene.

Intents Festival HCL Relive contest 2025

Coming out of the Hardcore period, Silvio Aquila (Arend Hebers) started listening to (hard)trance, hardhouse, techno. But then he discovered Hardstyle!

Silvio Aquila started mixing in 2003 in a local youth centre on the holy Technics turntables.

In 2006 he was asked to join a dj team consisting of 4 dj's & 1 mc, thanks to this he got a chance to present himself to the 'outside world'. Unfortunately this dj-team decided to split up and everybody went their way in 2007...

Afterwards Silvio explored more places in the north of the Netherlands and slowly build his reputation. In 2008 he became a resident dj of the well-known online Harder Styles radio FearFM. 

Left his mark on party's like Vroeger Was Alles Beter, Hardclassics, Back2school, Indicator, Decibel and more.These days Silvio Aquila still performs, in the Netherlands and abroad.
