I Need U is the second single to be taken from the forthcoming Dive album, by Joris Feiertag - a Dutch producer and drummer hailing from the historic and culturally rich city of Utrecht. His sound is a sophisticated combination of organic and synthesized elements, resulting in warm, melodic and heartfelt electronic music.

Having recently signed to Sonar Kollektiv, Feiertag released his debut long-playing record, Time To Recover, early last year. The album mixed Joris’ now trademark sound with a hand-picked selection of guest vocalists and received high praise from international magazines, like DJ Mag and Fazemag, as well as from tastemakers and DJs worldwide. Following on from his debut, and subsequent remixes, he is due to release the Dive album this spring.
This new project sees the producer return to something like his musical roots, diving deeper into the use of synths and embracing more offbeat melodies. I Need U has a UK garage feel about it - an influence that has stayed with Feiertag since his early years experimenting in making electronic music. Pitched vocal samples combine with those typically hypnotic keys and dirty drums to make a foot friendly, funky and euphoric club cut that is reminiscent of the works of British legends like Zed Bias and Wookie at their best. Joris’ breakbeat roots and raw energy shine through as he displays his uncanny knack to knock up a tune that will unite the dance floor.
Feiertag is that restless soul and musical magpie who’s always looking for new ways to express the melodies in his mind. Lucky, with a label as open-minded as Sonar Kollektiv, he has the freedom to do just that.

In recent years, Eora/Sydney-based Human Movement has been making waves, steadily picking up support from tastemakers such as Logic1000, Eris Drew, D. Tiffany, as well as heavy rotation across BBC Radio 1. Effortlessly flickering between leftfield atmospherics and unadulterated rave and breaks, Human Movement cements his party-starting sensibilities across the energetic ‘Clutch!’ EP for NYC staple HOMAGE.

Leading the release is the much anticipated ‘Rude Boi’, which has been lighting up online ID forums. Combining squelching basslines, raved-up breaks, and piercing synth stabs, the track is a no-holds-barred slammer. Following is ‘Lody’s Hips’, with bouncing low end, piano licks, and electro-tinged drums forming a grooving backdrop for dusty vocal samples.On the flip, ‘Slim Lim’ charges ahead with a murky groove laden with slinky leads and hyped vocal chops. Closing out the release, the mysterious Ozzy remixes ‘Lody’s Hips’, flipping the original into a wonky concoction of melodic flair and woozy sound design to round out another all-star EP from HOMAGE.

Since 2017, HOMAGE has remained a go-to imprint for upfront party sounds. Run by House Of Yes residents Ryan Clover & Fabi Jugo, the label has released music from Cinthie, Kettama, Ben Gomori, Teakup, and more.

PREMIERE: Human Movement - Slim Lim

Was it a daydream or reality? She wasn't sure anymore; perhaps she was just seeing what she wanted to see. These mirages had become more and more frequent, they'd become an escape from her daily life and the worries and woes attached to it. She preferred to linger in these moments, at times to her detriment, but who could blame her - her imagination provided things reality could never dream up. 

It's been a year since Lithuanian imprint Electric Shapes released their last Unreleased Territory VA into the world. Following a fruitful 2021 filled with releases from AJO, Far East Flight, Tadan and more, they usher in the new year instalment number three of the compilation series. Enlisting a fresh bunch of artists to contribute, including the likes of Rambal Cochet, T-woc, Kolomensky and KIKOK, the 20-track outing roams through the outer reaches of electronic music, from weirdo digi dub to downtempo breakbeats, twisted acid rollers and hypnotic coldwave.

Feiertag's scintillating form continues with 'Cala,' the third single from his much-anticipated mini-album, Dive.

Utrecht-based sonic craftsmen Feiertag has a unique take on dance music. He makes foot-tapping electronic sounds that are as emotionally deep as they are physically catchy. His deft designs seamlessly melt synthetic sounds with organic instrumentation. He treats vocals with a delicate touch and layers them into his tracks in refreshing new ways. He debuted on this label with last year's album Time To Recover and is sure to pick up just as many plaudits with this new one.

'Cala' was one of the last tracks to be recorded when making the album, but is definitely one of its most sonorous. It layers up steel drums, guitars and sweeping synths with snappy drums and a touch of Jamie XX's indie styles to make for a jostling, dynamic beat that is melodically rich and adventurous.

The fantastic 'Cala' hints at the more esoteric sounds you should expect from the forthcoming Dive.

CF Premiere: Kørper — Bad Company [Backpocket Slammers]

Rue is the second single from Alexander IV - the latest pseudonym of eclectic Dutch producer and multi-instrumentalist, Feiertag. This newly adopted moniker sees the music maker, largely known for his club friendly offerings, delve into the more rootsical side of his sonic output - taking in hip-hop, jazz, funk and soul along the way.

With his latest opus, our illustrious tunesmith delivers a tale in two very distinctive parts. The first offers up loosely looped guitars and sunny keys, wrapped around boom-bap beats and seemingly deliberately incoherent, ethereal vocals. Then halfway through, he switches to something altogether more dub influenced, complete with heavily treated percussive stabs and a plethora of echoes and effects. Subtle but life affirming pianos also join the fray before a reverberating vocal refrain completes the story of what is another euphoric yet refined downtempo jam from this master of his craft.

Alexander IV - Rue

That Blew My Mind is the final single to be taken from the forthcoming Westbound EP by accomplished multi-instrumentalist and producer Alexander IV, otherwise known as Joris Feiertag. This latest sobriquet has allowed the Dutch beat-maker to move away from his more club focused offerings, to explore his hip hop, soul and jazz roots.

On this concluding single, we can add reggae to this list of influences too as That Blew My Mind kicks off in sprightly mode with a skanking beat making way for a weighty bassline and assuring vocal samples. Add to that dubbed out horn lines and you’ve got a rocksteady offering that’ll see you into springtime quite nicely and get you pondering warmer and brighter days to come.

Alexander IV’s music fuses organic and electronic elements with ease, which isn’t surprising given the artist’s experience not only as a consummate dance music maker, but also as drummer of choice for Dutch superstars Kraak & Smaak. Add to that an extended family of gifted musicians, and you’ve got something brand new yet retro; uncomplicated yet masterful.

Coming from experimental hardcore techno in the 2000s, producer Charles Torris is now expressing his strange vision of the world through blends of electro, disco and wave styles, with vinyl and cassette publications by various labels (Mathematics, Dekmantel, Third Type Tapes, Lost Dogs Entertainment) and live performances (Astropolis, Maintenant, Serendip, Mechatronica). He's also active as a digital artist and game programer in Rennes, France, where he lives now.

Parallel Planet
The two long time friends Grammar of Movement and ECXO are finally teaming up as Parallel Planet on the split EP Mixtus Orbis with Le Matin via Maturre Records. Based on their music, it's easy to hear the high collaborative energy the two producers have when they're in the studio together.
These two Aarhus born producers are very inspired by the roots of detroit electro sound and have achieved their own groovy, pacy and trippy sound universe with the blend of soft analogue and edgy digital synthesizers. Two tracks for the dancefloor and one for the mind.
