A difficult percussion ensemble work for 13 players. World Premier by Rowan University Percussion Ensemble. Dean Witten, Conductor.

"Requiescence" represents my interpretation of a recurring nightmare my three year-old daughter had over the course of three months. Mutterings of, "Mommy! No! We're dancing!" ... "Help! Stop dancing!" would break the silence of the night followed by more calming phrases like, "It's okay now, we're just dancing".

How could you have a nightmare about dancing, I asked myself? What kind of wonderful, awful music would accompany a nightmare about dancing? I'll never know exactly what that dream sounded like, but perhaps this is close.

This piece is currently self-published, although I am seeking traditional publication now.
