BIO: 
Kuestenklatsch – this is the name of the Tech-House project and long-time friends Roman & Joerg whose got their musical roots in the north of Gemany, in Hamburg. Growing up in the 80’s & 90’s they participated in two very important decades of music including the beginning of house music. If you hear their todays productions you will recognize some strong samples from „the good old days“. After almost 15 years dj solo action they decided to couple up for founding this project.
Within very short time their groovy bassline-driven tech house found the way into the club szene all over Germany. Almost every weekend they push the people with groovy and impulsive sound to the dancefloor. Meanwhile they put a strong focus on their own productions and till this day they got signed on labels such 303Lovers, Formatik, Baikonur Recordings and many more. Their discography counts more than 30 EP releases and their music got arelady support by many major acts all over the world.
With all this success in the back, they raised their own imprint named „Fish & Chicks“, a new place for groovy und underground Tech House Music.

3 QUESTIONS to MARC HOULE:

Q: First of all thanks for your mix and the video you made of it. Let's talk about your roots: How did you get in touch with electronic music once?

A: Way back when, Electronic music really only existed in the realms of computers and science fiction. It represented a romantic dream of the unexplored future which was suddenly being made available to people en masse. Something clicked in my head and I wanted to explore these feelings and the electronic sounds became the soundtrack.  I’ve been chasing that dragon ever since. 

Q: How did you spend your days since the lockdown in early 2020?

A: So many phases have happened. I went from optimism to depression back to hope and scattering around trying to reinvent myself and trying to figure out how exactly I can make best use of this downtime.  It’s steered me back to the sounds and feelings I originally felt and allowed me time to focus once again.  I am rediscovering old synths, songs and cassettes and reworking them in a modern way.  It’s fun.

Q: Which future projects are on the way and what are you currently working on?

A: Right now I’m putting together a live set for Paxahau, the fine people who do the Detroit Movement Festival each year.  My itemsandthings.com Bandcamp page is updated and a new release should be up there soon. I’ve been exploring the Roland TR-8s a little more in-depthly and getting ready to dive into the new Ableton 12.  I’m also doing a bit of sound design for corporations as a means to keep that part of my brain busy.  Last night I had a dream I had 2 shows booked in France this weekend.  It’s strange for the last 15 years of my life to exist only in a dream state.
