Manfredas, a DJ/producer based in Vilnius, Lithuania, is also known as one half of Dresden party with Ivan Smagge. His kaleidoscopic play, shaped by the genre-spanning musical knowledge cultivated as a radio DJ, radiates an eclectic and irresistible attraction while evoking influences from electro, disco, post-punk, and beyond. This two-hour set, live-recorded at BAR Inc Osaka in July 2025, is no exception to his spellbinding style.

Richard Sen, former London graffiti artist and 30-year dance-music maverick, has played everywhere from fetish clubs to festivals worldwide. His genre-fluid sets blend disco, Italo, house, electro, breakbeat and deep techno with unmatched depth and storytelling.
Known for Bronx Dogs and Padded Cell, his music has featured in GTA IV, HBO, and remixes for LCD Soundsystem and Bryan Ferry. His compilations This Ain’t Chicago and Dream The Dream earned major acclaim, the latter winning DJ Mag’s Best British Compilation of 2023.
With a weekly show on Do!! You!!! and his 2024 album India Man, Richard continues to push culture with taste and passion.

Hey there folks - welcome back to Idle Cellars' Mix Series! It's been a wonderful year for music and we're so glad you're here with us exploring music via some of the globe's best selectors. We're coming in right down to the wire with a new mix from a veteran DJ perfect for your end-of-year holiday festivities. 

I met Balearic Mike via Paul "Mudd" Murphy, who suggested I meet up with Mr. Smith (his gov't name) and his soon-to-be spouse as they visited our fair city of San Francisco. Obviously kindred spirits, we all hit it off spectacularly and  have been solid amigos ever since, not to mention that the man has been a bit of a DJ mentor to me, encouraging me to get outside the tempo box and be freer with my selections and transitions, advice that I hold dear to this day as essential to my own progress in the artform. If there's a a DJ that speaks more to an  Idle Moment, we haven't found them.

Personal opinion aside, the man's accomplishments in pursuing the Balearic Beat (or non-beat, as it were) are legendary, seemingly at a nexus of Mediterranean ethos that brings all the tribes together, united through our love of music, dancing & chilling. HIs compilations for Claremont 56 (with Richard "Moonboots" Bithell) and the Down To The Sea and Back series (with Mancunian rhythm master Kelvin Andrews) have cemented him as a lead historian of the White Isle and the Black Crack we all love so dearly (I'm talking about records you filthy animals). 

Graciously, Mike has crafted us this wonderful two-hour mix to while away afternoons snowed in by the fireplace, for when it's too frozen outside to venture anything at all, and perhaps another round of hot cocoa is the only pressing thing to be done. Many thanks to Mike, and thanks to you all for streaming these wonderful mixes - your continued support enables us to continue highlighting our favorite DJs and we can't wait to bring your more greatness in the future.
