We joined forces once again with The Warehouse Project in Manchester with one of 2024's leading artists Kelly Lee Owens and rising star Aiden Francis.

Welcome to part 7 of the FMB DIsccord mix series. For this episode, we have Discotechnological gracing the decks: 

Hello everyone, I’m Nathan and I go by discotechnological online. By day, I’m a UX/UI designer based near London and I am happiest when I’m making things, whether that’s websites or apps, photography and design, Lego models, building things around my house, and more recently, music - which I release as Singer and the Instruments. 

Like many people I’m sure, I first got into Bicep around the time Glue came out and after picking up the debut album I was hooked and went digging through their back catalogue to find all those other gems. After that I watched a couple of the shows on YouTube and then the 6Music festival during lockdown when Isles came out, but it was the Glasto ’22 set that convinced me that I had get out and see them for real, so I got tickets for Ally Pally and loved every second of it. It was the best gig I’ve ever been to - until Chroma in the Park last year.

For my mix I wanted to showcase some of the great artists and tunes recommended by the community - and some made by them too - alongside some of my fave classics going back as far as the 90’s (yes, I’m that old!). I’m glad I was allowed to include my PULSAR remix as it was such an treat to be able to work with the amazing stems provided for the competition, but more importantly I felt that it was such a fantastic experience sharing our work with each other - getting incredible and valuable feedback and tips from the talented people in the Bicep discord community.  The mix itself is a bit different from previous entries in the series as I’m more of a blender. I like finding those intros and outros that work well with each other and just letting them roll. It takes in some techno, some breaks, a bit of house and trance, plus a surprising amount of acid, culminating in a visit to the chill out room (do they even exist any more?) and a sneaky discord-exclusive from the lads.
