We are thrilled to welcome our dear friend Tristan Arp into the SLINK family with his latest EP, "The Self Elastic".

A shapeshifter across strains of biologic club environs and tender sculptural soundscapes, this project finds Tristan Arp testing the elasticity of his own sonic blueprint through an exploration of varicolored intensity, mischief, and evolution.

Inspired by the sci-fi writings of Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower and Bo-Young Kim’s “An Evolutionary Myth,” the fluidity of free jazz innovator Ornette Coleman, and a fascination with alchemy, these four tracks are designed for freak-time club rapture.

What would it sound like if one could alchemize a self that is beyond the sum of all our parts. Would it make a sound? Would it have a shape? Would it have a body?

Following notable releases from Australian producer DJ Plead and Because Music's mainstay Logic1000, Berlin-based record label Sumac gear up to issue 'Marakame' LP from Viiaan...Our pick is Siete Catorce's remix of 'How To Heal', the quintessential soundtrack for a cyber-psychedelic workout in the middle of deep-rooted Mesoamerican ruins. The track opens with a digital mantra, pulsating with ultra-twisted dancehall rhythms, before evolving into puzzling synth oscillations, FX-laden textures and ambient rainforest recordings. As it progresses, 'How To Heal' unveils shades of experimental dubstep, poised to captivate dancefloors in the near future.
